Catch Amir Perets on Fight Science: Human Weapon on National Geographic Tonight at 9:00 PM

National Geographic has put together a special episode of Fight Science dedicated to self defense in every day situations called "Fight Science: Human Weapon."  It will air tonight at 9:00 pm.  You can check out the website for the show here.

The episode will feature Amir Perets, a man well-known for his martial arts accomplishments.  Perets was Bas Rutten's training partner for years, and became the heavyweight kickboxing champion in Israel at the age of 18.  After becoming champion, Perets went on to develop the hand to hand combat system for the IDF Naval Commando Unit (the Israeli equivalent of the U.S. Navy Seals).  Perets now lives in the United States, where he trains professional fighters and members of the general public in his system of self-defense.  You can read more about Amir here and here.

I love shows like this.

You have to be the man... you have to be very, like, alpha male with her. You know? Decide what you do and everything. So, show her who's the boss, you know? - GSP

wrong dude, no?

I thought Bas’s buddy was Amir Rahnavardi. Pretty sure it was him on the Bas Gone Wild DVD as well. I remember him talking about his loss to Lee Murray and Bas consoling him afterwards.

Bas was on Peret’s DVD’s. He also was in Rutten’s corner during fight with Kohsaka (he was giving him fight instructions through megaphone). Check out Amir’s videos on YT, I’m sure you’ll see Bas (his playing a thug on one of them).
