I wouldn’t be shocked if Jake fought Smith at some point, in case the fight with Hendo falls through.
Is this surprising to people? One guy is a natural WW who only moved up cuz there was nobody to fight him, the other guy is a former LHW champ.

Hendo is ranked by SI as #2 MW and #4 LHW, Shields has fought at 170lbs his whole career.
Henderson’s weight is a big advantage. Shields is only fighting MW because there are 4 top ten MW.s and no top ten WW’s in Strikeforce. Shields is still really a welterweight, but his skill level makes this an exciting match up.

Everything seems really weird…
Hendo announces he’ll fight Shields during his ESPN MMALive appearance then Strikeforce officials back off and say it’s still in the works.
Now this…
And Shields is doing TUF 11 now too…
Shields v Smith would be cool and I would LOVE to see Hendo v Jacare.
