Wilhelm Röntgen. He produced and detected X-rays.

Well, yeah I’m aware of who Rontgen is… Which is what makes it cool. Its like calling a radio a Marconi.

damn 400pound bench press thats pretty crazy for a guy who looks like he could be delivering your pizza or something
Bench press is over rated
I was 195 and benching over 315 my senior year in high school. It’s not hard for someone who is just relatively strong to work your way up to high bench “max out” numbers.
Fedor is definately an "Old USSR" kinda guy.....
I just get the feeling that growing up in Soviet Russia Fedor just has a total different out look on life than other fighters. He just goes along with his management. He doesn’t care for the luxurious things in life. He’s just happy to do his part and move along.
He doesn’t equate paydays with respect. To be honest, I’m not sure if he even really LIKES fighting. He just happens to be very very good at it. It pays the bills so he’s happy.
Just a very different/weird kinda guy. Someone else with his skill set but a different personality would be on top of the MMA world right now.
Agreed with the "LIKES" fighting part....
…..he has often said he does not watch many other fights……if you truly like MMA one would think you would be into watching as many fights as possible….

There is Something That Broke in Him
Maybe his knee after the Gonzaga KO, or JDS foot in his ass?

Best part is his answer to the "brutal sport" question:
“I have answered this question probably five times today and I will answer again. First, this sport is not brutal, but very interesting. It includes all types of martial arts. Everything that all men do — all that attracts them to martial arts is contained here in mixfight. It can be tough, but not cruel.
People who behave badly in the ring make this sport cruel — behave badly and provocatively, do not stop after the fight is officially stopped. But actually this sport is so unlimited and opens interesting prospects for fighters’ development. You can evolve unlimited fighting techniques in standing striking and kicking and you can also fight on the ground, hit and be capable of defending yourself. You should be able to do all these things. The sport is not cruel, unless people who are cruel make it so.”
Fedor is the poet of the sport
He is like a saint of fighting. It is very hard to explain but this video makes it so apparent. In his heart he understands where all men must find their strength in order to compete. And this understanding is what enables him to see the moment where fighters (and his opponents) fail – and yet be compassionate.
And here I thought he was just building heat for Fedor-CroCop II. :P

Have to add
Is “mixfight” (said in English) the ‘official’ Russian term for MMA? That… is seriously cool. Heard it first halfway through this clip.
