yea dr dana white from the commission checked him out
did anyone doubt this would happen?
I don't think Dana White is a doctor.
Also, he’s the President of the UFC and that’s it.
He doesn’t work for the NSAC, which is an independent state run governing body.
Why do so many people think that the promotions and state athletic commissions are the same thing? It irks me so much when I hear comments like, “The UFC needs new refs. The UFC needs new judges. The UFC doctor is…” The UFC does not employ any of those people.
dana has some influence in the nevada commision
and the fight isnt being held in nevada or being sanctioned so all they needed to say it was ok to put the public at ease
I thought the UFC did hire the doctors? Just not the judges or refs.

the fighter may have his own family doctors and what not but the fighter must pass a medical for him to be given a licence to fight. Also the UFC as much as people like to shit all over it would not throw a fighter in harms way just to make the fight, a death due to neglence is exactly the type of thing that would kill any chances of the sport breaking into new markets across the world and also in NA markets such as TO and NY.
The risk just inst worth the reward.
lol how the fuck did they manage that?
Your style's like garbage cans meant to be taken out on a weekly basis
Ever since your first record you've been in a state of suspended animation
You look like Snuffleuffagus and Australopithecus
Me cray, you abacus
I want to know who cleared that haircut. Presumably it was Miguel Torres.

Ahhh, I gotcha!
So Maia’s gonna go forth and smash s#!t up one last epic time while Nate lies in a heap wondering how it went wrong?
Since the fight is in another country
what does this clearance actually matter? The NSAC has no jurisdiction outside of state boundaries, let alone national boundaries. This seems more like a ploy to appease the fans, to help convince us that Maia will provide a very competitive fight.
ACs get very very pissy
when fighters ignore them with loopholes. It’s always a bad idea to mess with them.
The fight in which Maia was injured was in Vegas
And under the NSAC’s jurisdiction. They issued the suspension. The length of the suspension is standard pending further medical review. Most AC’s will try to impose their suspensions over fighters regardless of where they fight, and there are many ways to enforce this. When the fight with Maia was announced, the UFC sought medical clearance to lift the suspension. Very simple, no conspiracy.

That’s no sense. Dana is an evil force that manipulates corrupt and weak government offices.
Keep firing Assholes!

Well, but thats true of all corporations and politicians
Wasn’t this established with the bank and GM Bailouts?
Yea, I don’t get how people can get so upset about it.
Look at Maia’s cut, look at Sonnen’s cut. Then look at the length of the suspensions. how is it possible that Maia got such a longer suspension? Answer: They just say, you have a cut on your eylelid, 6 month suspension.
