Vitor Belfort says it would have been a terrible performance:
"You can’t describe something indescribable. Everyone is upset but I think they understand the situation. It’s part of the life and I will come back stronger after this. This situation gives me more wish to become the champion. Soon I will be fighting for the belt and doing what is need. I just want to thank the support and endearment from the fans. I only ask everyone to root for my recovery. It’s hard to speak over it. It’s like the saying ‘the past is a bounced check, the future is a dated check and the present is money in the hand.' I have to look ahead. I know I have a brilliant career to come. It came until I couldn’t stand the pain anymore. I was sacrificing myself too much. Then I went through MRI scan and the doctor said I couldn’t put off the surgery otherwise I wouldn’t continue working. It could be worse if I fought with my shoulder less than 50% good. Surely It would be a terrible performance and might mean an injury for the rest of my life. I think I did the right thing now."
[UPDATE] by Nick thomas - Chael Sonnen not fighting Silva at UFC 112:
"Sonnen said Friday he had a discussion with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva and will not be offered the fight. UFC president Dana White said Friday that Silva will remain on the card, but said he still does not have an opponent."

It's a good thing he bailed
Because he would have gotten destroyed with that bum shoulder.
"I will do nothing lightly. When I walk, I will walk heavily. When I fight, I will fight with conviction. When I speak, I will speak strongly. When I love, I will love with everything"
Still sucks
"And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command, we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine patris, et filii...et spiritus sancti."
Big Time
But just like with Chael I want to see a 100% Vitor fight Anderson. Silva is my favorite fighter but above all else I want to see epic fights no matter who wins.

talk about a career full of ups and downs
hopefully he can recover quickly enough to not lose a step.
I'm glad he pulled out
(that’s what she said)
It’s a bad situation for him, the fans and ZUFFA but it’s crystal clear it’s the correct choice. He shouldn’t get any guff for it.

“You can’t describe something indescribable.” – This may be my new favorite quote.

That's ironic*
- Please note that I’m misusing ironic in a goldberg-esque fashion…I am not an idiot.

I like Rothwell's Quote on Mirko
“This guys gonna come hard.”
And what Nate said about Chael.
“I plan on finding his hole and taking advantage of it.”

So it has to be a middleweight, but it’s not Sonnen or Belfort? Guess Marquardt is getting the shot after all.
Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

bisping, sexyama, or Aaron Simpson.
Your style's like garbage cans meant to be taken out on a weekly basis
Ever since your first record you've been in a state of suspended animation
You look like Snuffleuffagus and Australopithecus
Me cray, you abacus

Akiyama is rumored to be waiting in the wings for the winner of Bisping/Wand, which takes both of them out of the picture. And there is no way in hell that A-Train (much as I love him) comes anywhere near Silva’s belt this soon.
Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

Mousasi still has a fight for Strikeforce.

Possibly Maia instead of Nate. Depends on who took less dmg in their fights at 109 and who is more marketable. Okami is the left-field option. If it will remain at middleweight then it must be a title match and I can’t think of anyone else, in the UFC, who is remotely worthy over those 3. LHW is another tangled mess, no one is available save for Thiago Silva, Couture (unless the rumored Franklin bout goes through), and….uhm…Lous Cane?
Maia is suspended till April (supposedly).

?
So Anderson is still fighting at ufc 112 and at 185 but chael is not fighting him. Is that right? Who is he gonna fight then? Maia is injured, Nate just lost, Okami lost, Bisping is fighting Vandy, Akiyama is 13-1 but has only one fight in the ufc and it was a split des. Who is it?
the ace of spades
rich at lhw would make for a good fight.. I dunno if ace would even want that fight though.. He probaly still has nightmares.. It would be less pressure for rich and i think he would make it a fight for the right price
have u ever even been in a fight??

this was one of the epic battles I was waiting months for… now it looks like we have to settle for Akiyama.
Sexy will be ugly.
