Rolles Gracie released by the UFC:
"I understand the fans are disappointed. I appreciate all the support I received and I wanted to put on a good show. What can I say? It wasn't my day. I mean, this is MMA, not golf. The fans are a different breed and when they are angry, they definitely let you know."
Others cuts coming off UFC 109 were Frank Trigg, Mark Coleman, Phillipe Nover and Tim Hague.

dis-gracie
this guy needs to stick to GI’s
gracie got beat by a man who they called on, what like a week before the fight..
i’m gladall these guys got cut
trigg & coleman? why’d they even bring him back!
I thought he should've been given one more chance before they cut him..
that’s what they usually do for people on their debuts, since a lot of them get jitters.
I said this before in another thread, but he must have made an impression on Zuffa, cause his fight was the only one ANNOUNCED as a loser goes home.
They're both Filipinos, but if I were to choose,
I’d keep Nover over Buchholz.

How many others in recent times have been one and done with the UFC?
Neil Grove was dumped after one fight. Anyone else?
Most fighters making their ufc debut don’t have the combination of getting paid 15k to show and looking as bad as rolles did.
That’s a bingo!

Its understanable that he was cut after one fight
Not only did he look terrible, he let down the Gracie name and as a business move it only made sense that the UFC would cut him. They have another, lesser known (by the casual audience), Gracie debuting for them in a few months and the UFC doesnt want people thinking that all Gracies are that bad.
Also, Rolles was terrible on PPV. Had he been terrible on TUF, who cares really? But he was terrible on a PPV and they were practically forced to show the fight because it was the only undercard fight to finish before a decision.
I’m surprised they aired his fight on the PPV to be honest. Would have been totally fine with them airing Guillard/Torres on the PPV. That was a FOTN candidate

I was wondering about that too; they showed the Davis fight (which went the full 3 rounds) and the only other fight from the undercard was the Rolles fight, which didn’t make it the full time. Maybe it was a time issue; they couldn’t show another full fight so they had to fill it up with something, the only undercard fight that didnt’ go the distance.
