This wasn’t surprising.
He has a lot to work on.

i know i cant be the only one that thinks Nover would be good in the WEC. i think he would be a great example of using the organization as a farm system.

good idea. he obviously has potential. just needs to be brought along slower than he can be in the ufc. probably better suited for smaller shows for the time being. shame though, he seems like a classy guy.
thats a fantastic idea, they might sign him but definately not at what his ufc pay was

His pace seems perfect for the WEC. That’s a great fit.

A week later Dana White would be proclaiming, “People say he’s the best but who has this guy fought recently? Nobody. He’s no Marquardt.”

Triff would be a solid announcing asset
but Mir does a great job with color on the WEC broadcasts, no need to fix something that is already working.

Broadcast
I would like to see this guy in the booth. He seems to have a knack for it. Or be a stunt double for Kurt Angle =P
The post-UFC 109 cuts have been RELENTLESS!

Thank you for explaining that, that probably would have stumped me for a while.
you clever rascal, ubernoober.
I was a big fan of Nover when he was on TUF, and he is also Filipino like me. I don’t know what happened that made his UFC career a total nosedive. Nover seems like a quality fighter, and he may consider getting into the WEC, Strikeforce Challengers, or Bellator.
I'm glad you brought this up
I don’t think Nover was mentally competent to fight. He couldn’t handle the stress of fighting in the octagon and usually defeated himself en route to the fight.
I could see the kid making another go of the sport when he matures more, but as for now, he’s his own worst enemy.
I wish him the best regardless,
Jay K.
I honestly think..
He wasn’t that good when I saw him on TUF.. Never could understand the hype but I guess 90% of that hype was for making an illusion that the TUF still produces champions.
I like Bader though from the same season (and Krsyvscxtof).
Besides Lutter...
Has any other TUF winner been cut besides Lutter and now Nover?
Nover didn't win TUF.
You have to be the man... you have to be very, like, alpha male with her. You know? Decide what you do and everything. So, show her who's the boss, you know? - GSP
oh that's right...
that makes more sense now. forgot about Efrain. it’s easy to do that sometimes…
Watched the Hague fight. I think I’d have scored it either 29-29 or 29-28 hague. But its not a terrible decision IMO.
What the terrible decision is is to cut Hague but not Tuchscherer. Tuchscherer did not look impressive at all. His takedown attempts were very sloppy, He showed some allright dirty boxing, but other than that his striking sucked too. He was horribly gassed by the third round, and if he keeps fighting in the UFC they’re going to have to bring in the “fat kid at the pool” rule, and make him wear a shirt. He had all sorts of belly skin flopping around.
Hague at least showed potential, although he was green and sloppy too, and needed a lot of coaching. (At one point his corner yelled, “get to fucking mount, right now!” and he kept looking to them for advice. But he showed some accurate striking on his feet once in a while, and was able to get a lot of power into short hammerfists by whipping his arm.
other than that, neither would be a huge loss to the division.
The problem is that the division is already pretty weak and there aren’t a huge amount of guys that can compete at HW at all. I think they should have kept Hague.

was not a good night for the filipinos…
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
Sigh...
Munoz and Vera have challenging matchups ahead too… Hopefully they’ll win though.

Munoz could get to Grove’s chin on the floor, but I think we may see him subbed.
Vera, has a more than decent shot against Jones tho.

I’d actually think that Munoz has a better chance against Grove than Vera against Jones. Grove is susceptable to a good top control game and doesn’t have the greatest chin; Munoz has been training with the Noguieras, and I don’t think Grove will have anything for him that he hasn’t seen. If he can maintain control while striking on the ground, and then simply stand up if Grove starts to threaten, he can repeatedly take Grove down, pound on him, wear him out, and get a TKO in the 2nd (my prediction!).
Vera on the other hand… seems to have a mental block. He can’t pull the trigger like he should and even in the Randy fight looked very tentative at times, had brain farts on following up the good things that he did accomplish, and through lots of people thought he won that match, he had the chance to put it away more than once and didn’t. By comparison, Jones seems focused and willing to throw the kitchen sink at someone to make an opening and do some harm. Vera is easily the more technical striker and is probably the better technical wrestler and grappler too; but I have trouble believing in the guy with head issues over the focused, dedicated, improving and very athletically gifted up and comer.

i agree, i think it's munoz' fight to lose...
as long as he’s properly trained by black house to avoid the submission game its gonna be a lot of ground and pound in my opinion.
and i think vera is going to have a hard time dealing with the 6.5" reach advantage according to wiki that bones has. grappling i have no idea who will be more proficient, but it’s hard not to think bones will win the striking game as long as he fights smart.
Vera’s striking game is much tighter technically than Jones, but between Jones’ pace and reach, and Vera’s seeming unwillingness to set up and throw combos, you could be right.

Jones explosive athleticism is scary. The way he manhandled Matt Hamill was eye opening. Vera is very game and can withstand pressure, but I will say Bones will exploit Vera’s lack of killer instinct. This is pivotal moment in Vera’s career and Jones is going to force the point. Maybe the old Vera will be forced to make stand.
