Phil Davis gives an honest assessment of his UFC debut:
"I need to definitely get back in the lab, work on some more things and try to figure out how to solve a puzzle like Brian Stann for the next time. It was a good fight, I did ok, but I still feel like there was a lot of areas that I could have did a lot better."
"I have a lot to work on. In my mind to have the ground control that I had without a finish showed that I needed a lot of work. So that's number 1. So I have to get back, work on some finishes, work on some more jiu-jitsu, and work on some more wrestling. And I say wrestling because if I get beat on wrestling, it's going to be a long night."

If Derek Jeter clubbed a baby seal on earth day while wearing a mink coat and crocodile skin boots while burning tires on an iceberg, the reaction would be "Its OK Derek, you’re a Yankee." -First mammal to wear pants
Davis truly impressed me
The thing that pushed it over the edge was securing that armbar at the end. I love wrestling/sub specialists, perhaps because they’re so rare a breed. He did look a little indecisive in mount, but if that’s all he has to worry about in his UFC debut against a very strong test in Brian Stann (totally controlling someone and not finishing him), he’s well on his way.
He’s one of those guys where I feel that opponents have a temporary window to take advantage of flaws— like Lesnar or Jones— before the window is completely shut and just about everybody is fucked.
Blackout612- "Wuts teh UFC?"
Ubernoober- "It like two guy who just stand and swing for fence and try to knock each other shit out it awesome"
