Dumbest breakdown ever.

Ecspecially because considering their age, who looked worse for the wear in their last fight? Definately Couture.

It’s just a silly category altogether.

How is age even a factor in a fight between two old farts like Couture & Coleman?

i laughed at that and the weight issue. i believe they both cut the same weight. whether you’re picking couture or coleman, why be an idiot and give the nod in the age category to the older guy? if me and couture fought, i would have a HUGE age advantage… but that doesnt mean i stand a chance. if this guy wants to be so lopsided in favor of couture, why not just make the categories things couture strongly outweighs coleman?

I'm old school hating Lesnar, I've been hating Lesnar since '08

Why even bother putting age in there when you’re just going to say it isn’t a factor.

rofl this is like saying Lesnar has a strength advantage over Mir then brilliantly inferring that “one must give the nod to Mir in the strength category.”

I think its interesting that Couture

Keeps insisting that despite his age, he feels like he is the best fighter he has ever been and the smartest. Has he reached the point that most aging athletes do?. Where they cannot see reality for what it is?. Because from my view he looks slower, his standup looks worse, his footwork is plodding, he swings his head around in bizarre wide angles, and his chin looks very shaky. And I have not even gone into the wrestling part, which has visibly fallen from his fights with Silvia and Gonzaga.

Of all the fighters out there, I would expect Couture more than any other to be dispassionately realistic when evaluating himself and his abilities. He always seems very rational and accurate in breaking down his own fights both before and after the fact. At the end of the day, though, he’s a businessman just like any other and understands how to promote himself.

To be fair, I’m sure in many ways he is still improving and still feels like he’s learning and becoming more experienced as a fighter, so it’s not just simple hype. And while his speed and his ability to take damage have obviously started to drop, I don’t know that I’d say his wrestling has visibly fallen. Even in the Vera fight, in which he couldn’t get the takedown against an opponent who was also well versed in greco-roman wrestling, he still managed to control him for the majority of the fight.

He looked alright in the Vera fight....

But was basically outwrestled by Nogueira, a guy who is not really known for his wrestling prowess.
