does aoki really need to prove himself against sithoar 2.0?

Damn…..Aoki going the Frank Trigg route with this fight.

Nagashima looked great in the K1 Max Japan tourney. He has a good chance in the K1 rounds & has an MMA background so he isnt a fish out of water.

Yeah
But even with an MMA background, he will get subbed in a micro- second if the first round is MMA rules.

It's a K1/MMA alternating rounds match
like Bob Sapp/Le Banner.
If it’s like Sapp/Le Banner and starts off K1 first than Aoki might be in trouble.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find that shirt Aoki is wearing?
Google fails me, much like my life.
it’s apparently made by Foundation Fight Co., though i couldn’t find it for sale on their website.
it appears to be on sale here: https://standthemup.org/dr/node/315
or you could try FFC’s facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/FoundationFightCo
you need to get better at googling. that took me about 1 minute. googled: Mixed Martial Arts north face shirt

It’s actually a custom shirt by MANTO as seen here.

I got in contact with them and they never mass produced the shirt. The only place it could be available is in some MMA stores out in Japan.

Like TylerTreese said earlier, it’s probably going to be Jerome Le Banner vs Bob Sapp-style. Round 1 and Round 3 are K-1 rules, Round 2 and Round 4 are MMA rules, and if it went to the time limit, it would automatically be ruled a draw. Banner vs Sapp is actually # 3 in the most watched MMA fights of all time.

sapp-le banner was awesome. aoki actually has some respectable kickboxing though, so i don’t see it that difficult for him to last until the second round, and his grappling is obviously way more dominant than sapp’s so this might not be much of a fight but if they can’t deliver aoki-melendez two this is a pretty decent consolation.

Wait, what?
by Scott Haber on Dec 10, 2010 12:25 AM EST up reply actions
i didn’t say good kickboxing, i just meant he knows what he’s doing enough to put up decent enough defense to last until round 2. sapp had nothing aside from clinching and throwing his trademark clubbing punches.

Things like this are why the decline of Japanese MMA saddens me
Come on, alternating MMA and K-1 rounds? You just can’t get that here in the states.
at least this isn't under X Rules LOL
(if you don’t know what X Rules are: X rules will see the first round as three minutes of kickboxing, the second round, will be four minutes of shoot boxing and the third round, five minutes of MMA)

MMA, kickboxing AND shootboxing!?
Where are these fights taking place, I feel like I need to see them.
freaking melendez
contract mumbo jumbo wateva, his just scared to go in aokis backyard and face him, aoki has fought like 3 or 4 times since that loss and melendez has done 0, alvarez aint gonna fight him, his not interested in thompson either…..
Yes, Melendez is terrified of
having to embarass Aoki again. It’s not Gilbert that’s scared…it’s the fans that are scared of having to sit through that again.
by Scott Haber on Dec 10, 2010 11:46 AM EST up reply actions
i don't think Melendez is scared
just wants to prove himself against other competition.
but don’t lump ‘the fans’ in with your opinion. I’d like to see it again, it was a 5 round decision…that doesn’t mean it was bad.
