I'm curious about the thoughts of the BE community on this subject:
If fighter's had to weigh in closer to fight time, how would that change the sport?
The topic of PED use gets thrown in the mix after the jump. Not a real reason for using the jump, but hey...what the hell!
With the Sonnen and Barnett hearings in the news, my mind is on PEDs. Since it doesn't look like they are ever going away...given that premise, I think that if guys fought closer to their natural weight, it would lessen the impact of PEDs.
I'm way out on a weak limb on this one, but if PED use can't be curtailed, perhaps limiting the fight night weight disparity between fighters would mitigate the overall advantage gained via PED use.
A fighter using PEDS + Weight Cutting Mastery has a bigger advantage over competition than a fighter using either PEDs or Weight cutting alone.
