These two have a combined 14 fights. While Semerzier is on a losing streak, I think that he wins this one especially since he has fought tougher competition in his career, and he had a hell of a fight against Cub Swanson.
I won't jump off the bandwagon just because you lost.
If Mackens loses this
Fabiano is going to be reaaallllly pissed with himself.

Goddammit why?!

Semerzier looked fantastic against Cub despite losing a fight of the year bout. If he comes into this fight against Leroy looking the same, Leroy will thankfully be destroyed.

Mackens hasn't really impressed me since the Fabiano upset
That being said. I still think he’s better than Cacares.

He has looked extremely sloppy at times.
For some reason I think he will throw Leroy on the ground and jump into a triangle.
If he controls himself, he should win the fight.

Now with Bruce Leroy its hard to figure out where this kid is. He’s only 22 and pretty damn athletic but without any real polished skills. He’s not UFC level yet, but as a favorite of Dana White i see him sticking around at least for a fight and if he loses being monitored closely on the regional circuit. Its very likely they bring an unknown prospect to fight him on the undercard like a Mark Adams, or give him a fight against a guy on his way out like Mackens Semezier

Two things to watch for in this fight...
1.) Has Bruce Leroy been working on his weakness?
— Power, technique, takedown defense, grappling, etc… All things that seemingly were never worked on throughout his young career. I like his athleticism and explosiveness in the cage, but outside of his name, personality, and that…
… There’s not much there.
2.) Did Sermerzier just catch some bad breaks along the way?
— Hopefully, he’s worked on somethings and comes out better conditioned and focused for this match against a hungry young kid looking to make a UFC splash.

2.) Did Sermerzier just catch some bad breaks along the way?
I think it is more likely that Semerzier caught a great fighter on on an off night. IMO, his last few fights are more indicative of his real talent level than his win over Fabiano.
At the same time
Fabiano has never revealed himself to be a “great fighter”. He’s one of the interesting MMA breeds like Arlovski who has the ability, but not the know-how to put it all together. Semerzier has the ability, but unlike Fabiano he has the excuse of youth.

Are you 12?
You were way more likely to be murdered in Baltimore in 2008 than you were in Tombstone in 1881.

This kid shouldn’t be ALLOWED to call him self “Bruce Leroy”. Leroy Green in “The Last Dragon” was bad ass. He caught bullets with his teeth, he got the glow and whipped Shonuff ass at the end of the movie. Plus Leroy was humble. This kid is a ass hole.
Catches bullets with his TEETH?!

All this hate sounds like jealousy…
Caceres might be the only guy in UFC history to take a picture with an afro pick in his head.
Accustomed to mediocrity.
Undeserved, but not unexpected. He was obviously one of the worst guy on this season of TUF, but Dana White seemed to like his personality. This guy will get murdered in the UFC, he has some talent but his technique in all aspects of the game is severely lacking. He’d be better off with a couple of years in smaller shows before being let in the big show. Semerzier should win this easily.
I’m no huge fan of Caceres, but how the hell could you say he was “obviously one of the worst guys on this season of TUF”? The guy won two fights on the show and gave eventual finalist Michael Johnson a competitive fight. That’s not bad at all for someone who was “obviously” so bad.

I have to agree.
I’m not impressed with Bruce Leroy’s skills, but to say he was one of the worst guys on TUF is sheer lunacy. Results matter, and Caceres was certainly one of the better guys in the house when measured on that basis.
I don't remember him running into two guillotines, that's for sure

Hasn't he been training at Tristar?
Curious to see what Zahabi did to him up there; dude’s a complete genius.
I do believe
you are right on both counts.

Don’t let the door hit you in the fro on the way out. seriously, with that pick in there that could be dangerous.
