Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard at UFC 125 Preview on The Fight Fix
Host Dustin Green of Comcast SportsNet in Washington, DC looks ahead to this weekend's UFC lightweight title fight between champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Gray Maynard. Edgar seems to have more to prove, surprisingly, and even notes "If I beat him [Maynard] this time, I believe there's nothing anybody can say."

If he wins, he'll probably be a favorite against Pettis
only took two title defenses.
Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

just think ...
All he has to do is throw with bad intentions and we will all not be doubters anymore.

I think Frankie really shows us how improved he is in this fight
Then, Hopefully (but doubtfully), people will have a little faith in the guy.

If Frankie wins, he will gain a lot of respect
but I think he’s going to struggle to be loved. His style is very much like Dominic Cruz’s, in that it is technically very strong, but will tend not to produce finishes, or even highlight reel moments.

I appreciate what Cruz and Frankie do
but I can’t say I “like” it. Cruz’s last fight was pretty freaking impressive in the he was basically able to dictate the pace the entire fight against a quality opponent, but after watching 4 minutes of it, I could have told you how the remaining 21 minutes were going to play out.

if i wanted to see technically sound weak punches, aimed at scoring points....
I would watch Olympic fly weight boxing.
Mma should be a fight with intent to finish IMHO.

Edgar actually does look like he is trying to finish fights. He threw and landed power punches to BJ’s face in their second fight (and Sean Sherk’s), but Edgar is just going to keep fighting Lightweights that are hard to finish as shown with his opponents that he has had in the UFC. He doesn’t lie on his opponents like Maynard and is constantly active, and I don’t think that he is just trying to score points.

I hope so
I mean come on, the man Beats BJ Penn twice! I know the first fight was split decision and all that. The second however he destroyed Penn. I dont see how he cant get respect after doing that twice. I think his boxing will be to much for Gray. All he has is a huge looping overhand right. So many fighters have that now a days and im tired of them saying they will out box their opponents because of it.
