Davis was saying just the opposite not too long ago, so maybe he’s just trying to hype the fight with it coming in just a week. Age and years of abuse to his body work against him. Nonetheless, Davis puts on entertaining fights, and I think him and Stephens are going to have a great fight. There are some really good opponents for Davis at Lightweight, and he looks to be on Dana’s and the UFC’s good side, so I can imagine him not getting cut possibly even with three losses in a row.

I was always a fan of Davis...
and have been saying he should drop to LW well before he even started to lose. I cant wait to see how he does in the new weight class.

War Davis
With you all the way my man. Hopefully a title run means he tries to go for wins instead of FOTN bonuses
Davis is a great fighter but I think Stephens takes this fight. Watching Davis get destroyed by Saunders was enough for me. I think Davis will look good for this fight but come time to fight we’ll see Stephens take control and win by tko late in the fight.
Same hear. Sence that Saunders fight he has looked so slow and old I know he has never been a world beater but these last few fights his speed has looked down right horrible the way he gets beaten to the punch. Even in the Goulet win he looked bad up until he caught Goulet. I don’t like his chances at all in this fight. I think we will see Davis get his pink slip after this fight and be a headline on smaller shows on HD.NER figths. He is just not UFC material in my eyes anymore.
I'm glad he's feeling inspired
When he first decided to cut to LW, he said he didn’t plan on making a title run and just hoped to have good fights with guys like Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher. It’s true that the only fight of his in recent times where he didn’t have a reach disadvantage was the Paul Kelly fight, and he didn’t get hit once in that fight. He’s got some underrated hands, and I really hope he shines at LW. Best of luck to him.

I don’t think Davis can improve much more.
He just looked old in his last 3 fights
This is just usual pre fight hype talk.
Eh, he’s not quite at the Brandon Vera level yet.

well dropping down a division is a form of reinvention
and I think its important for a fighter to be able to take what they can from achieving the discipline and will of making that change, respect to the guy.

I like Davis but I think he’s getting near retirement time. It would be good if he did well at lw but i think he’s been fighting too long and its taking its toll on him. In his last couple of fights he’s reminded me of Evan Tanner near the end of his career, he’s just a step behind his opponent

If Marcus Davis can take Jeremy down early
methinks he can submit him. But on the feet it’s Jeremy all day.
Either way Davis is going to retire after a few more fights. He’s not getting any younger.
OHHHHH! OH MY GOODNESS DID YOU SEE THAT?! He ran up the wall like a ninja and landed a high kick! Unbelievable! I've never seen anything like that, it's like something out of a movie!
