Tito Ortiz vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira to Headline UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle
MMA Junkie reports:
MMAjunkie.com has learned that the contest, which originally was thought to be scheduled for UFC 128, instead will headline UFC Fight Night 24.
While officials have not formally announced UFC Fight Night 24, the event is expected to take place March 26 in Seattle and air on the UFC's longtime cable partner, Spike TV.
UFC Fight Night 24 represents the UFC's first visit to Washington. While a venue has not yet been announced for the event, Seattle's 17,000-seat KeyArena would seem a likely target.

Since the other post was deleted, I’ll add it here. I’d say the ShoWare Center in Kent is more likely than Key Arena.

Definitely
Tacoma is a dump with just the Tacoma Dome, Seattle has no other small arenas, Renton and Kent have something, Everett is Tacoma-lite and the Comcast Arena is not an ideal place for a UFC event considering where it’s located (congested part of a small downtown), so your ideas make the most sense.

Well look at who he lost to. Its not like he got completely dominated either. All of those guys, minus Hamill, have been champions.
Griffin clearly beat Ortiz
The guy who scored it for Ortiz should be shot.

Dude
Nate had to go back to his last fight against Ken Shamrock to find a win.
The last time Tito Ortiz finished anyone not named Ken Shamrock was before 9/11.

9/11 shook a lot of people up.
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

You made a mistake
it says “win” next to Brilz and “loss” next to Bader. Pretty sure those should be reversed.
But seriously…Ortiz needs to stop headlining things. I would prefer he get behind the table with Rogan and Goldberg, and entertain me for a few hours.

Thank you!
I was just about to post that. How in the hell did Bader win that shit? I guess its ok cuz Nog sure as hell didnt win the Brilz fight.
Nog sure as hell didnt win the Brilz fight
Except for the part where he won the fight.

Did you hear him at Day of Reckoning? Ortiz on commentary is not entertaining and that’s putting it nicely.
I dunno,
I saw Lil Nog get manhandled by both Brilz and Bader, so maybe his record is somewhat correct.

Have you heard “Heed” talk before; he is a mumbling, non-coherent, borderline ra-tard (said with all due respect of course)… If he is in there with Goldy and Rogan, I will definitely be buying less PPVs.
Man
Tito Ortiz might be the only MMA fighter alive to headline a major promotion card while on a 100-fight losing streak. Oh well, might be a fun fight. Not whining about it.
At least they're finally coming to Seattle.
I think you’ve got it right, Beer. if it was a PPV card, they’re in the Key. Fight night’s definitely in Kent or Renton.

New Co-Main
this was supposed to be co-main event for UFC 128 Shogun vs Evans… Any ideas for what the new co-main event will be?
not sure if it would be the co main event but Jim Miller and Sean Sherk would make alot of sense for this card .

UFC Fight Club Party! For UFC UFN24.The Spectator Sports Bar and Grill
I just got of the phone, booked us a UFC FIght Club Party for this UFN 24 in Seattle. It will be at the Spectator Sports Bar after the weigh ins. Fight clubbers get in free, and there will be some drink and food specials. Ill also make it so SBNation folks can get in as well. I wil reannounce this when we get closer and on the Fight Club events page. If it ends up being Kent, Tacoma or Everett, we will find a new place, but i know great bars in all three cities. Lets hope for the Key though, its the best option IMHO…

There aren't too many notable MMA fighters who train near Seattle
I think Rich Franklin does/did and so does Ivan Salaverry. Don’t think there will be a lot of local talent on the main card.
On the local scene I personally know two MMA fighters (they fight at 145 I believe) and in a grappling match one of them won by gogoplata. I need to find the video.

Don’t forget Oregon. You could definitely see some Team Quest guys on here. Ian Loveland comes to mind. Also the Brave Legion guys out of Vancouver. I’m looking at you Rick Story.
I’m not sure Story’s camp would take that fight they want top 10 guys now but most of them are booked up. Give him Alves. Haha.
I doubt Serra is still top 10 material
He’s lost 3 of 4 and Lytle lit him up.
Serra’s a safe fight if you ask me. Builds Story up and gives him a win over a “name” opponent.

I like this matchup.
Even though Tito lost, he looked great against Hammill. I think it’s pretty evenly matched as far as where both guys are at in their careers.
That is hilarious.
Loss Matt Hamill Decision (Unanimous) UFC 121
Loss Forrest Griffin Decision (Split) UFC 106
Loss Lyoto Machida Decision (Unanimous) UFC 84
Draw Rashad Evans Decision (Unanimous) UFC 73
Loss Chuck Liddell TKO (Punches) UFC 66
Win Ken Shamrock TKO (Punches) UFC – The Final Chapter
You had to go back six fights to find a win.

come on lets be real here. this is obvious to all eyes that tito is being mashed out of the UFC. I’m not high on white but dana did do him an immeasurable favour signing him back, but it looks like in the long run dana did himself a bigger favour by locking down a name talent and squeezing all marketability out of him.
Who is going to touch tito after he gets stomped on by lil nog?

Maybe Dana White doesn't like Tito as much as he says he does.
Why else let Tito drag his MMA record through the mud over and over again?

that was not bullshit. when you get warned for something and then use an illegal move to gain an advantage which in this case prevented a takedown IIRC, you lose a point.

Agreed.
Most MMA referees are way too generous with multiple warnings. There’s a whole 10 points. Take some away when it’s necessary.

Looking at that list though, Tito has only lost to very good to the top Light Heavyweight fighters (Chuck was a top Light Heavyweight when he fought Tito a second time). Against Evans, Griffin (first two rounds), and Hamill, Tito was pretty competitive in those fights. This fight against Rogerio will probably be his last in the UFC if he loses. I was thinking that the UFC could have given Tito someone easier like K-Sos or Bonnar. It also says a lot about what the UFC thinks of Tito that he isn’t on a PPV and is on a free card.

Tito's last win was vs Ken Shamrock....
That really puts things in perspective.
I think Tito has a shot… Nog’s wrestling isn’t amazing and Tito is very hard to submit. Could be a boring win for tito. But then again… he won’t win.
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
Here is what is going to happen
Tito will claim that he wants to get his belt back, and how hard it is to train at big bear whatever and not see his gf and kids etc and will lose, that he wants to get the belt back for all his fans.. sigh
Nog will outbox Tito, infact I think Tito will suffer a TKO if he even tries to stand with him, on the ground Nog will win too because Tito can’t seem to make the connection that it’s not his training/physical state thats wrong, its his mentality.. he has always depended on his size overpowering his opponents and he has that heart factor too.. if Tito gets taken down he becomes extremely discouraged and loses.
Hamill showed everyone that he isn’t contender status and Lil’ Nog is just going to be the Grim Reaper to his tattered career. Tito has fought tough guys? Why is that excuse still relevant, we can say that about alot of the light hw’s its the glamour division of the UFC and a shark tank, look who Lil’ Nog just fought, Bader was a much more threatening opponent than Tito is and he did well against him.
RIP Tito, go play with your kids and work on your clothing brand, stop punishing yourself and the fans of UFC by filling in a card we know you are going to lose.
Why are we even talking about this?
This fight will not happen. Tito will pull out two weeks before the fight due to back problems, and we won’t see him fight again. He’s done, and he’s just putting his name out there one more time.
