Since MMASupremacy doesn’t do this anymore, let me step in:
RUMORED CARD:
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza vs Robbie Lawler
Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs Tim Kennedy
Herschel Walker vs Scott Carson?
Roger Gracie vs Trevar Prangley
And Nick Diaz is rumored to be facing Cyborg Santos
Say what you want about Strikeforce
but they said they would be putting on a championship card every month for the first six months. You have this card. Fedor rumored for February. Henderon v Feijao in March at the Arnolds with probably some of the HW tourney taking place. They are more active than we have seen them been since they started. Let’s hope they keep it up.

i’ll agree with you when all these cards actually happen.

Fedor rumored for February?
Well, let’s just write that shit down in pen then.
Luke: What was our best moment?
Nate: When I banned Subo?
Luke: That was a good one.

Roger's last contracted fight....

That's a damn tough fight for Gracie
I know he’s unparalleled in straight up grappling but I think Prangley will take it to him.

I wish there was a way Damien Maia and Roger Gracie could fight.

The man is like an avalanche.
Takedown, mount, cross choke.
Pull guard, sweep, mount, cross choke.
Pick your poison.
Guillotine.
He’s all about the collar choke from the back these days. At the world’s this year he finished nearly all of his fights from that position.
im pretty sure Roget would sub him.

Well. From people I have talked to,
they say it’s pretty even. Damien Maia is one of the most gifted guys in this category. He is no bum

Yes
but to suggest he’d definitely get subbed I don’t buy it. Do I think Roger is better? Yes. but I can’t see either of these guys finishing each other in a serious fight. In MMA, I actually give Maia a better chance to beat Roger. Not by submission but by decision

I agree
It is very difficult to get submissions in MMA; you can’t wear shirts or pants, vaseline gets all over everything and the gloves impede RNCs. (This sounds oddly sexual but in any case. . . ) Watch Marcelo Garcia’s lone MMA fight as an example of how difficult it is to submit guys in MMA. Marcelo submits everyone in about 20 second once he has your back but couldn’t submit this guy who had accomplished nothing in grappling, other than avoiding getting choked out by Garcia, which is actually quite an accomplishment. I would be very surprised if Roger could submit Maia in an MMA fight and Roger’s striking is way behind Maia’s, whose striking has improved quite a bit to the point where it can be described as somwhere north of middling. Roger’s striking is somewhere south of a work in progress. Roger’s TD ability looks very weak although I here his judo isn’t half bad. At this point, size differential be damned, I would take Maia over Roger and would definitely take Jacare over Roger.

It's definitely a lot tougher than most people think
I can only think of two guys right now who consistently submit high level competition: Penn and Aoki. That’s it. Although Benavidez is having some good success with his guillotines lately.
Well, I get what you’re saying, but even Penn’s last submission was over 18 months ago (4 straight fights without submitting someone). Overall, he only has 6 submissions in 16 wins. I’m sure there are many others with better submission ratios than Penn does. Also, for someone as BJJ gifted as he is, it’s surprising to see that of his 6 submission wins, he’s used a RNC 5 times, the other time being an Arm Triangle Choke. I would have expected an arm bar or two. I think Penn’s fallen in love with his boxing and just tries to knock out everyone nowadays… when that doesn’t work, then he reverts to his ground work and goes for the RNC.
Roger is the best, if they rolled for Roger would probably win.
Maia is great, Roger is on some next level shit.
Besides if you wanna see a Jits off , it should be Jacare vs. Roger.

didn’t jacare beat maia as well? also i was under the impression jacare was more accomplished in general.
there is no video evidence for that and hence
your argument is not acceptable in the court of law ;)

That’s correct. Jacare won the absolute division at the ADCC and the mundials (perhaps twice in each case, but I’m forgetting now), which Maia did not.

Nice picture
It was pretty wicked how deep he sunk that RNC in on Randleman. Kind of bad on the ref to not break it directly at his first attempted tap, old Kevin went to sleep because of that.
If Gracie can get it to the ground he wins, but obviously if Prangley can keep it standing he should have no real problems. Good fight either way.

Damn
That was sunk in deep. Looked like Kevin’s eyes might pop out lol.
Gracie has a good jab,
but that’s about it on the feet.

I think its pronounced Roger
He’s wants it pronounced the American way since he lives here
I can't do it
Every Gracie – Hoyce, Henzo, Holles, Hyan. It’s too late for him to change that.

I realize these fighters are way past due date but,
Kevin Randleman, Yuki Kondo, and Ron Waterman are good scalps for a guys first 3 fights.

Here here. Those aren’t formidable fights for a current contender, but for a man who has never fought professional MMA its actually incredibly impressive, regardless of the grapling background. There have been other elite grapplers, some more accomplished than Roger (yes, I consider Olympic gold medals on par with ADCC victory if not above) that were not ever able to beat opponents of that caliber.

It is always good to see a Roger Gracie MMA fight, and this is one tough challenge for him. Very interesting fight, but Prangley is no scrub. It really comes down to whether or not Roger can get Prangley to the ground even if Roger has to pull guard.
