i LOOVE wjfk

i HAAAATE their podcast setup. Someone correct me if I am wrong but their podcasts (other than the junks) are not listed on itunes to listen to on an iphone. Their website is not flash compatible with the droid, even if you use google listen you can only listen to the first podcast in any entry/directory. Downloading the files is a bass ackwards pain in the ass, even listing the URLs out like this means I have to load up the segment, copy/paste, then return to reload their stupid, slow loading webpage (rinse and repeat 7 times). Who changes the way files are named not only weekly but midshow (notice how segments go from being numbered seg 16, seg 26 to seg 35, 45)?!?!?!? Apologies to Luke if you are the one who is doing that but crap like this is fairly consistent with all of their shows and, frankly, it shouldnt be up to luke to create a standardized naming/labeling system for all of their podcasts.

This whole thing is a prime example of some suit that doesnt understand his product, understand his audience making an executive decision that takes a dump all over everyone elses hard work. All that for what? A couple thousand (hopefully) page views Being able to listen to a show at home on your computer is great better than nothing but the whole point of podcasting is to be able to listen in your car, on your ipod/phone, on the go instantly on-demand. Without seeing any of Luke’s numbers I can almost guarantee that his DL numbers are cut in (at least) half by not being available through itunes. Even with the “shortcuts” i put in place here I would be 5 minutes into a Tony Kornheiser show podcast (a podcast from the competing sports station in town) before I even get started on an MMA Nation, Mike Wise (why the fuck would I listen to Mike Wise), Lavar/Dukes podcast.

I have always been a big fan of arrested development and think this video of david cross fits here very well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeFV5GprfaQ . CBS radio has (or has had) NUMEROUS shows that not only had large, loyal followings but clear and precise numbers to back it up. Not any of this neilsen ppm, he might have listened to 15 seconds of a show while standing in a waiting room BULLSHIT, but here is X amount of people from the washington DC area who actively searched/listened to our show, here is Y amount of people from Balitmore that did the same, here is Z amount of people who did the same for the rest of the country. If they cant find a way to sell advertisers that this is a great way to reach their target audience they have no one to blame but themselves.

And that ends my rant. Apologies to woooburn for leeching on to his thread but it makes it much easier to find the mp3 links when they are on top.

I feel your pain

Luckily the show is worth my time to track down and listen. Others may not see it that way. I have to use a different browser just to download them. I’ll keep doing it but I wish it was easier. I would agree that you could have a much larger following if things were more easily accessible.

That said the show is great and keep it up Luke!

I agree with 20dawk20.
Luke’s show has missed out on so many regular listeners all over the world simply due to the archaic handling by CBS Radio.

Duke is a great dude.

Spoke with him on Thursday after the fights. He’s also pretty charismatic which will make for a great on air interview.

Wow, I just watched the Pettis episode of World of Jenks

That was the first thing I have seen from MTV that was a truly good show, not just entertainment. That was so interesting seeing the background aspects of the fighters, and the Team Roufus camaraderie with cutting weight and training.

I don’t know why people ess on him. He has Anderson Silva head movement and absurd cardio

I don't hate Cruz

But the constant hyperbole is starting to grate me. I saw somebody on twitter say he had GSP’s takedowns and now he apparently has Anderson’s head movement. Let’s breathe.

GSP takedown is a little much but I say Silva cause it reminded meof Silva vs Franklin the way Jorgenson seemed to have missed everything.

his second benevidez fight was pretty bad

he dominated bowled though, he also doesnt finish which is a hated quality among belt holders

also his style is rather odd to watch, it turns some people off

i love the guy though, one of my favorites

Favorite / most disgraceful moments 2010?

Overeem winning K-1.

Sonnen bringing out that racist bullshit before his bout with Silva only to have people eat it up. Then he tests positive to top it off.

by Brent Ducharme on Dec 19, 2010 9:19 PM EST reply actions

Best moment of MMA in 2010 – the entire Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen match, including the build up and the aftermath.

Worst moment of MMA in 2010- Leonard Garcia winning two really, really lame decisions, and winning on one card of the Hominick fight.

Could you ask Duke if Anthony Pettis’ tae kwon do is a big part in his game, and if he could have one more fight, who would it be against? Also, I would like to know your thoughts on Donald Cerrone getting beat on the feet by Horodecki.

And it also speaks to the fact that there probably really are ten more like it being worked out. Trying to visualize them on your own is kind of interesting.
