no prob.

sorry, had to create a new post since they don’t allow editing image fanshots to video fanshots… (now all the comments from Scott’s post won’t be seen)

Thanks for the video though, it’s nice to get updated on Tim…. and I know you can’t talk about most of it yet, but if his next bout becomes finalized will you let us know ahead of all those other sites? haha :)

I sure will.

He has a couple big announcements coming up soon. Look for this fight to be shown in HD on an upcoming Inside Mma on HDnet. I emailed KidNate some pics from the show, backstage and what not. Maybe he will post a few of them in here since I can’t from my phone.

Poor Mr. Lucero. I give him credit for stepping in there but he was thoroughly outclassed.

ANance, since you mentioned some possible big news for Tim, and seemed to suggest it wouldn’t be the UFC, is there any possibility he takes part in Strikeforce’s HW tourney?

by John Nash on Dec 13, 2010 2:59 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Once his next fight is set in stone ill pass it on to one of the writers here. There is a few good options actually right now.

That

was pretty pathetic.

And Tim’s still fat.

I don’t intend to insult Tim with that comment. But he’s fat, and if he wants to compete in the UFC’s HW division, as an absolute threshold to being in that conversation he needs to lose some weight.

Good for Tim

But Lucero was a walking corpse.

I wrote this in the other post that got deleted.

Vince took this fight on short notice after a few other guys with big names turned it down. Vince hurt his knee badly in this fight. I give him mad respect for him coming in and taking the fight. He and his brother were both very nice people.

Since his loss to Mercer, Sylvia is 4-0 with 4 finishes. A KO, a TKO, and two subs to strikes (so basically two more TKOs).

Jason Riley- 6-1 before Sylvia, 3-2 after (loss to Daniel Cormier in his last fight)
Mariusz Pudzianowski- 2-0 before Sylvia, 1-0 after
Paul Buentello- 28-12 before Sylvia, 1-0 after
Vince Lucero- 19-18 before

Sylvia would look so much more attractive to major orgs if it wasn’t for that Mercer loss. But if he keeps piling up those wins, its going to be tough to ignore him, especially if he beats Pedro Rizzo in February. He can be a good test for others.

I like Tim Sylvia, and I hope he can get back in the UFC or SF

If he were in top form, I think he’d give Bigfoot or Brock a good fight.

Is ANance the “finish that motherfucker guy” or the one that sounds like Matt Hughes.

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

He is one of Timmay’s good friends. Awesome dude who would always put up with our Tim jokes (all in good fun of course) haha. Good to know what’s going on with big Tim though! ANance, thank you sir!

For anyone wondering...

I’m the short, bald, Tattoo’d guy. I’m 5’8" and 185lbs, decent size build. Next to Travis i look like 120 lbs. Haha

It’s cool to see that these fighters are still being tracked outside of UFC competition… As a sidenote, I believe that Jeremy Horn will compete in MMA until he is 70…

… this actually makes for an interesting fight, either use Sylvia as a spring board for Struve for a better name, or vice versa.

I like it :D Dana make it happen

Sylvia will probably need to get

in a better shape though. I think he is one win away from a return to UFC unless he decides to go pursuing Overeem just like he did with Fedor. I do think Tim is a bit underrated. Having said that, he’ll get killed by Overeem.

I see that ending poorly for Struve.

Sylvia knows how to fight like a tall fighter, and he has excellent TD defense.

I’d love to see Sylvia back in the UFC. Keith Jardine also picked up a victory over the weekend, beating Francisco France via decision.

good for him.

just looked up the card he fought. were some pretty fun names/matchups on it.

by woooburn on Dec 13, 2010 10:25 AM EST up reply actions

By decision? His opponent was custom made to be KTFO. Well at least he snapped the loosing streak. maybe his mind gets in the right place now and he comes out mean again.

Nice.

First, thanks for sharing this! It looks like Tim really pays attention to you guys in the corner. He pretty much did everything you guys suggested except for the boxing coach’s uppercut — did the knees, pushed down on the head, punched the body, got his leg out, let him up when you guys said to… You’ve got to like a guy who can hear his corner while fighting and implement the advice.

It does look like Tim could shed some fat though. I’d love to see him leaner and faster, lighter on his feet and more agile. I don’t think he’d be able to hang with the top 8 or so guys in the UFC if he doesn’t improve his mobility, and like many others, I’d love to see him back there. He left at the worst possible time, just as they started putting a division together.

Lol why didn’t the ref stop it, Tim pretty much just ended the fight himself.

by AHutch on Dec 13, 2010 9:44 AM EST reply actions

Thanks for this.

I was never a Tim fan earlier in his career and in the UFC, but i have respect for the guy and the way he handles himself and has matured over the last few years has made me a fan, i’d like to see him back in one of the major promotions, i think there are a lot of interesting matchups for him.

Damn, I half expected them to cancel this. Pretty much all of the Twin Cities was shut down for the whole day. Hey ANance, how many people were there if you remember?
