I was actually pretty bummed when I saw the poster,
but yes, that saved it ;)

these shitty posters just make yours look all the better.

thanks I guess. But none of my posters would be good for official use though. Making your priority to make select texts be easily seen, can really suck a lot of creativity.

Well then fuck that priority.
They need people to actually want to see the poster.
Hahahaha
Not quite my friend.

I mean look at the size of those letters!
They made a video game about Yakuzas. It’s called Yakuza. And it’s about Yakuza
And it's orange!
Hey UFC4 go fuck yourself, how about that? Fucking punk, I was just asking for the source that says lesnar gets 5 mill a fight, it’s obvious one does not exist. Bunch of gabronis on a site pulling figures out of your ass.

Yeah, I’m not sure how excited people are going to be for this card. Penn coming off the KO of Hughes helps a bit, but I am still not sure why Bisping and Rivera are fighting (aside from Rivera calling him out, I guess). I think Penn/Fitch will actually be a great fight, but it is certainly not an easy one to sell. I am assuming this will be a free event on Spike.

Looks like a fun card
Tough matchup for BJ but if he beats Fitch, the #2 WW, I think they give him a title shot. Hopefully he can stuff the TD’s and light Fitch up on the feet.
I’ll be pulling for Jorge too in a longshot.

That's a really dull poster for a really good card
Forget it Donny. You're out of your element.
Or it's a really dull poster
for a kind of dull card. Only reason I say kind of is because of Condit/Lytle.
Is this seriously a PPV card?

Personally I'd buy this card just for Fitch
but I’m the rare person who really, really enjoys watching Fitch do his thing.

Fitch is the second best welterweight in the game after GSP.
If he beats Penn, there’s no doubt that he’s second only to GSP and greater than Hughes. The dude is a goddamn winner. Glad to watch any card that has him on it.

Greater than Hughes?
I don’t know about that. Title defenses are a game changer IMO.

Can't defend the title when GSP is the champ.
Fitch can dominate any other 170 fighter alive. Thiago Alves is the best challenger GSP has faced and Fitch did the same thing to him.

Obviously.
For better or worse I think that ends up hurting him in the long run when it comes to legacies. Hughes was the man for about 5 years, Fitch has been runner up for 3.

Alves was definitely not at 100% against Fitch, he had a real bad weight cut.
I think if the Alves that fought Howard showed up we would have seen a different fight.
I think if the Alves that fought Howard had fought Fitch, we would’ve seen the same Fitching. =)
To save me some time on 25% of all threads, here's the universal answer to the Fedor-debate: Fedor is the most accomplished MMA fighter ever. That is a fact. If he still is the best fighter at this point in time is up for debate.
greater than Hughes (today)
I think that’s what he meant.
by Anton Tabuena on Dec 13, 2010 1:18 AM EST up reply actions
It is not.
I think Fitch in his prime is greater than Hughes in his prime. If you adjust heavily for era then I understand making Hughes #2 over him, but I don’t fall for that. Fitch is beyond dominant over every contender to GSP. All routes to title shots go around him. Do you really think that Hardy or Serra would do well against Fitch? Both would get top controlled to a decision.
I understand people doubting this stance right now. I’m not completely dedicated to it yet either. But if Fitch beats BJ Penn, he’s clearly the second best fighter at 170 of all time. Over Hughes. And I truly believe that.

shocking they are making this a PPV. buyrate…300k? I mean could Penn possibly draw against Fitch?! That would be a huge statement if he could do anything decent without any co-main against Jon Fitch.
Seems like a poster for the tickets being available

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
It’s not my fault the next GSP couldn’t beat Rob Emerson.

they owe Rivera a lot.
he trained for months, cut weight, and didn’t get paid. Giving him a high profile fight and a huge opportunity has a lot to do with that I think.

He got his show money. You might be thinking of Nam Phan.

Isn’t Siver a step down for Sotiropoulos after fighting Lauzon…?
Fitch's only fan. It's lonely, being me.
nope.
but step down in popularity? Yes.
by Anton Tabuena on Dec 13, 2010 2:54 AM EST up reply actions
I guess I’m just wanting them to progress him quicker… But I’m sure Joe Silva knows way better than me. Sot’s specialty is BJJ though, and Lauzon was definitely better in that department than Siver is… I don’t think a spinning back kick is going to be enough to stop George.
Fitch's only fan. It's lonely, being me.
the way Lauzon lighted Sots up on the feet (before he gassed) makes me think otherwise
if Siver can make Sots stand up with him for as long as Lauzon did, I’d give him a decent chance for the upset.
by Anton Tabuena on Dec 13, 2010 3:09 AM EST up reply actions
I was really surprised to see Lauzon fare so well on his feet after the way George picked Stevenson apart on the feet in their fight at the beginning of the year.
Fitch's only fan. It's lonely, being me.
Stevenson isn't that good standing.
…and he should’ve taken Danzig down.

I was thinking the same thing. Stevenson is not a striker, but a grappler. I was also wondering the same thing with Matt Riddle because he was wrestling/ground n punding his way to victory, and not doing boxercise/Tae Bo.

it's for the best.
that’s screwing unaired prelims from getting a chance on the FOTN bonus, and more likely than not, will give the most popular fighter on the card the most votes.
(fights that happened on the start of the card could also have more time to get votes… it’s a really flawed system and I really wonder why they never thought of those stuff)
by Anton Tabuena on Dec 15, 2010 4:33 AM EST up reply actions
The thing with Siver is that since he came back to the UFC, he hasn’t really beaten anyone too noteworthy. His win over Spencer Fisher has been his best win to date. Sotiropolous, on the other hand, has beaten guys like Stevenson, Pellegrino and Lauzon, who I feel are equal or ahead of Siver as far as strength of record is concerned. Siver has a good win over Andre Winner, but Winner has only beaten Roli Delgado and Rafaello Oliveira (lower-tier fighters) in the UFC.

aren’t the ones buying the majority of the PPVs.

Anyone know where I can buy this masterpiece?
I must frame it and hang it above my bed so it’s the first thing I see when I wake up.
Another inexcusably bad co-main
I honestly think they want Bisping to get a title shot.
Accustomed to mediocrity.
A co-main of Bisping vs. Rivera might not be as bad as Stuve vs. McCorkle, but pretty close! At least we were pretty much guaranteed of a finish of some kind with Struve… not so with Bisping (tap, tap, tap) and Rivera. I’ll be very surprised if that doesn’t go to a decision, a very boring decision.
How is Bisping a bad co-main
Bisping is a popular fighter, has highlighted several Spike cards, and has co-mained in Australia before. Popularity is a important factor for co-main events, and Bisping has it.
Dear audio diary: Today I may have accidentally registered myself as a sex offender! WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY LIFE
- T-Rex
Rivera drags it down several notches by himself. Bisping is closer to the best in his division than Struve is, but not by a huge margin. McCorkle had more credibility (10 wins in a row, impressive submission against a big name) going into his scrap with Struve than Rivera has going into his fight with Bisping. The fact that Bisping asked for Marquardt and was given Rivera is proof of just how much the UFC is afraid of losing pretty much their only UK flagbearers definitely.
Gay
Bisping wins 2 fights against guys coming off of losses (right after losing of course) and gets a co-main event slot? Sotiropolous had done more IMO to get that.
Both Machida and Rampage were coming off of losses, and got main event at UFC 123. Wins/Losses mean nothing regarding main/co-main fights… it’s fan appeal, fighter recognition, and relevance at a distant third. You could say Sotiropolous only has relevance on his side, and even then, against Siver, it’s not that relevant either.
Fight Club Presale??
I’m hoping to get some when they go on sale (don’t have fight club membership), so hopefully I don’t miss out!
Yeh it was the fight club pre-sale. Ticketek site was playing up a bit so be sure to be on it right on time for the general public release.
Thats the plan...
I recently signed up for the UFC Newsletter, so hopefully that helps me get into that round of Pre-Sale tickets, otherwise I have to be on the ball when Thursday morning rolls around….
