Jason Miller is a great self-marketer
That’s great for MMA. He should be in the UFC right now, but he’s OK outside the UFC so all is well.
I don’t know if I would call him a self-marketer but I will say that the highly opinionated McKee has a really great and inspiring back story. I’m particularly thinking about what he’s doing in his community and his wrestling pedigree.
I’ve seen him fight a couple of times, I just hope he finishes his opponent in his first UFC match OR has a really exciting 3 round performance.

I know I’m not the only person that was watching IFL on free television – McKee did his thing, not exciting for many but he’s a stifling son-of-a-gun. The MMA community goes abuzz when they’re hear incendiary comments. So what, most people really don’t analyze what’s being said and stick to the headlines.
But yeah, I guess you have a point.
Oh yeah, I pay attention to those guys like Travis Fulton, Jeremy Horn and Travis Wiuff. The unsung heroes of MMA that despite the W-L record and pay, do it for the love despite the opinions of the UG, BE, and commenters on Sherdog.
I really could care less who’s relevant with the community. Folks be fickle. Really fickle.
Go Diaz. Go Anderson Silva. Go Fedor-when he fights or not. Go Chris Lytle, just because. And wassup up with my man, Kalib Starnes?

THANKS! That’s the key. When I slow down, get lazy or stop my skills suffer tremendously. I’m gearing up to post a new MMA Month but I have to find more time. Being a brand new dad is tough and kills my time but its rewarding and really fun.

In America
The true ignoratti, as well as those with double-digit IQs of all races look down upon the practice as best as I can tell.
In reality, there are still undercurrents of it in places amongst almost all levels of society, although the actual practice itself of looking down on it is openly looked down on within most of the more educated circles.
The one seemingly outlier to all of this in my experience is that antisemitism seems to be accepted if not expected amongst many of the “old money” families, for reasons unknown.
I, but not my wife were raised, and we have tried hard to raise our kids with a very race-neutral perspective, but even amongst our (theoretically) like-minded “peers” there are occasionally slip-ups that remind me that not everyone is an unbiased as they try to appear. It rarely happens around me because I won’t let it go without pointing it out openly when it happens, but sadly I’m sure it still goes on behind my back more than I would like to imagine.

Definitely so. Its mainly those who are highly educated (particularly those within academia where it is almost a universal belief), highly progressive politically, or both. In those groups, the bigoted of all (other) varieties are fair game for derision – as they should be IMO.
But in any upper middle class or higher (yes, I know honestly discussing class is one of the few remaining taboos here) segment of society, it is never, ever done publicly or even semi-publicly, although as I alluded to it does happen when small groups of seemingly like-minded people speak informally, not realizing one among them does not agree.

I think I may have misinterprepted your question
My first answer was regarding those who look down upon those who look down on racism in all forms.
In general it is more widely practiced than one would think (or hope), but except among the so-called underclasses (of all races) it is not something considered acceptable to really even acknowledge publicly, even in those areas where it is probably the predominately held belief but it is kept private due to political correctness.
The fortunate thing to me is that among kids, teens and even most young adults, it is considered a badge of ignorance to hold such views, so I hope that within another generation it will be as wiped out as realistically possible under modern society.

Such views (overt racism of any sort) are associated with the truly ignorant, as well they should be.
Because those who secretly harbor such beliefs have to keep it to themselves, hopefully the shame they acquire regarding those beliefs will prevent said beliefs from being passed on to their children.
