Here’s the knee that ended it.

Great pic.

I really thought Sapp just got tired, fell down, and couldn’t get up. I had to replay the exchange on the ropes three or four times before I saw that it could have been the knee.

God Sapp is garbage. I could tear shit up too if I was 340 pounds of muscle and KO power enjoying about 100 pounds weight advantage in every fight.

You would also probably gas every fight just like he does.

You notice Sapp’s face in that picture is a common theme in his fights as well.

Sap doesn't care

He just gets up, collects his check, cuts out about 40 head of japanese girls from the heard and goes home to his mansion. Saps got it better than 98% of mma fighters

There's not. But in Japan being black is like a novelty.

I haven’t been, but in China people walking down the street would stare at me like “Wow, I may never see something like this again!”

If he wasn’t black he probably wouldn’t be nearly as famous.

Well, this fight played out exactly as I expected. I don’t know why anyone books Bob Sapp anymore, this is basically what he does in every fight nowadays. Just stop booking this clown please.. also this was the main event, I’m kind of glad I didn’t go.

by Gouken on Nov 28, 2010 1:23 PM EST reply actions

Funny what SilverNBlackZach said.
The most likely explanation is of course that all the fighters Cro Cop, Fedor and Nog beat in PRIDE has lost their step since then. Like;

“Sapp lost his heart after the Nog fight”
“Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Brett Rogers and Matt Lindland sucks now after Fedor beat them because he took their soul”.
“Zuluzinho and Hong-man Choi were really good at the time they got beat up to boost Nog and Fedors record”.
“Mark Hunt is legit, he only lost to Sean McCorkle 2010 because he’s one billion times worse than he was in PRIDE when Fedor submitted him, his submission defense happens to have declined as well”.

those are a couple serious argument heard everyday on various forums. Oh well.

Not hatin’, just sayin’.

I love the big trio from pride, but sometimes i’m completely f*cking baffeled at the fact that Fedor is considered like top-3 pound for pound for having a record based partly on beating dudes like Sapp, Hunt, Zulu, Hong-man Choi etc etc.

by sanfrecce on Nov 28, 2010 1:25 PM EST reply actions

you do realize father time takes his toll on fighters right?

i was just about to bring that up

i lived in japan from 1998 til 2004 and watched Sapp fight some good fighters. hoost is no joke in kickboxing. and big nog was out, just had the refs on his side.

now though, he has taken quite a fall. who cares, he’s a demi-god over there.

by silent.bisonte33 on Nov 28, 2010 6:09 PM EST up reply actions

Hoost one of the greatest kickboxers to ever live lost to Sapp twice. Sapp probably tops the list of absolute wasted talent and potential.

I think it was a Bas Rutten interview where he said Bob would spend more time doing media, commercials than doing actual training when he got real famous.

You couldn’t ask for a more technical fight. The ups and downs, the crisp combinations, and sheer determination. Pacman and Mayweather could stand to learn a thing or two from Mr Sapp.

I'm seeing hate for Sapp the fighter, not Sapp the person.

Having heard he’s a great guy (though having never met him personally) I wouldn’t pass judgment on who he is as a person. However, as a fighter he’s pretty much a joke and I don’t think his performance in this fight (or many others) is beyond ridicule.

He doesn't suck at kick boxing

And I’m convinced he’s thrown at least one MMA fight. But its Japan. Why not?

He doesn’t even try to get up. All the technique in the world wouldn’t have kept Minowaman on top of Bob Sapp if he attempted to power out. He used to bench 600lbs, squat 800 and curl 2 Japanese schoolgirls.

HE WAS IN BLOOD AND BONE

did anyone see that movie? he was a fighter who was juicing and popping pills.
the problem with sapp is you look at him you say if he would train to his full potential he would be unstoppable. i saw a vid of him training for k1 and after like 4 kicks he was done. he has crazy power. if he would get down to 265 he would be faster and his form would improve because his base would be better. i would like to see sapp become more than just a joke but that is not happening.

by BIGNAT on Nov 29, 2010 7:55 PM EST up reply actions

He's a lean 340lbs.

So 265 probably isn’t in his future.

by TheFilt on Nov 30, 2010 1:46 AM EST up reply actions

I don’t even understand why he does this. I thought he was rich, or at least fairly well off. Don’t a bunch of Japanese companies give him a monthly paycheck for being a big black dude?
