I've never seen these dudes fight

Cause the WEC isn’t being shown in my country.

You should definitely look into watching some of their fights,

as well as pretty much any other WEC bouts, you won’t be disappointed I assure you.

I will explain.

Cruz is an odd fighter. Tall, lanky, mostly wrestling and very interesting and successfulness striking. Very fast. Awesome!!
Jorgensen is a little powerhouse. Very strong hits hard, very good wrestling and grappling. Tons of entertaining fights. Also Awesome!!
Henderson is a very good grappler / wrestler and has a ton of heart. He has MAGICAL sub defense and can take a beating and come forward. Puts on great fights. Might be slightly overrated, but his fights are AWESOME and I don’t care. Awesome!!
Pettis is all kinds of awesome that you don’t see anywhere else. Young guy. Fast. Flashy. Solid takedown defense and very very entertaining offensively. If you haven’t seen this dude, look forward to it. This dude is all sorts of AWESOME!!!!

I wanted to say something about that but I knew it was just a mistake.

Am I the only one who thinks

Anthony has a better chance against the UFC champ coming from Maynard Edgar fight than Henderson? Better chance but he will be an underdog nonetheless.

No I agree

Edgar and Maynard both are better wrestle-boxers than Bendo. He just does not match up well with them. He and Pettis have huge potential though and could definitely be in the upper echelon of the UFC one day

by Mandalore on Nov 23, 2010 11:11 AM EST up reply actions

They'll both be significant underdogs

But I think Bendo has the better shot. Better fundamentals. I love Pettis and his style is very fan friendly but it leaves him open a lot.

I agree that Bendo is more well-rounded

but I think Pettis may be a more dangerous stylistic matchup. Either would be underdogs, but I don’t really see Bendo outwrestling or submitting either of those guys.

Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

I think Henderson would have a better shot against Maynard and Pettis against Edgar.

Pettis would get taken down repeatedly by Maynard but could potentially outstrike Edgar. Bendo would get outstruck by Edgar but could catch Maynard with that tight guillotine.

Really.........

Just like 3X All-American Wrestler Div. 1 wrestler Shane Roller took him down right? Pettis stuffed nearly EVERY take down. Roller is a better wrestler than both Edgar and Maynard

by Pimp_man on Nov 23, 2010 1:45 PM EST up reply actions

As far as MMA wrestling goes it is beyond argument that Maynard has shown a hell of a lot more effective wrestling than Roller. Performance in other sports is interesting information but ultimately proves nothing in an MMA context. A common example would be that GSP has nowhere near the credentials of Koscheck in wrestling but still managed to outwrestle him in their first fight.

You’re obviously a Pettis fan, but there’s no need to take offense to a simple prediction of how a hypothetical fight would go.

I was thinking the same thing with the guillotine as well. Also, Ben Henderson is pretty good in the scramble as well, so even if he does get taken down, I can see him initiating a scramble even with the top control that Maynard has. Ben Henderson vs Edgar would be very interesting to me though.

I would have to agree,

I think Pettis is a much tougher match-up for both Maynard and Edgar, his aggressiveness and stand-up skills present much more problems than Henderson’s skillset does, not to mention his ground game is no joke either, I’m sure Shane Roller and Karalexis would attest to that. Bendo, while very talented and entertaining, seems like a poor man’s version of both Edgar and Maynard (I know it’s not as cut and dry as that, but you all know what I mean).

two very very talented young men

one of these guys could be a big star. Either of them would be far more marketable than Maynard and probably Edgar. Frankie has some potential to catch on but either Pettis or Henderson would make a quick impact in the marketplace. Especially Pettis. Dude has charisma and a very flashy style.

Watch the episode of World of Jenks with him.

Kind of a "reality" show on MTV where the guy finds random people and lives with them for like a week or so, and sees how they live their lives.

He did an episode with Pettis and cornered him against Roller. Got to get a real good look at where Pettis came from and his goings on outside the cage. Definitely made me more of a fan.

When aiming for perfection, you realize that it is a moving target.

As a personality?

Velasquez. By far.

The ability to cut promos and stuff

I think Cain was OK against Brock with his I am going to beat Lesnar which is more than I have heard from him in the past. He seems to be getting it. Maynard… I guess he can talk trash. I don’t know. To me it’s close.

Maynard can talk shit

Albeit in a slow, plodding manner. He was on an internet radio show recently and just went off on one of the hosts (Gray seems to not like a man named Mike Sawyer).

I got Pettis. He has sick take down D as shown against Shane Roller, sick striking and scrambles, plus jits. Damn is that gonna be a sick fight!

I'm still unsure about picking Pettis.

I like the kid, but we still don’t know how he looks in a five rounder, and there’s always the possibility that he gets Varner’d.
