was his 3rd round smart or just cheap?
Maiquel Falcão in his fight against garald harris dominated the first 2 rounds. in his third round he just sat back and waiting for harris to attack with slim to no offense in that. He was obviously just holding out for a decision win, and afraid to engage contact.
I felt that falcao's hand speed was amazing in the first round and second round, his striking speed and accuracy made me a new fan (having seen him fight for the first time), BUT the third round came about and after dominating two rounds he did not even try to do anything the entire round. Me being a fan of agressive but smart fighting, and fighters wanting to finsh a fight and be victorious the real way, and not by a technicality, i immediatly changed my perspective of the fighter. (Much like anderson silva) this is bad for the UFC, bad for the fans who pay to see good fights, and bad for the fighter who wants to make a living in this sport.
A fighters goal yes, is to win and be the best, but should also include being an exciting fighter and exciting fighters finish fights, knock people out, are constantly working to finish. This was a very poor (to say the least) performance by Maiquel Falcão and if i knew he was fighting in my area i would not pay to see him fight.
oppinions on this?
