"If you look at it, it's two guys that are good at everything, not really great at anything. We'll see how it goes on the feet for me. I wouldn't mind if I can take him down, I'd like that. Nobody is a south paw on the ground; it'd be a little simpler. But (Rich Franklin)'s got a great butterfly guard, does a good job at getting up; he's got great submission awareness. He's fought some really good guys if you think about it. Good guys, good wrestlers, he's survived well on the ground. Hopefully he's not as quick as I think he is. Hopefully he's lost a step."

What are you basing this on? As far as pedigree is concerned with wrestling, then Davis would be the better wrestler, but in MMA, it is a lot different. Jones has taken fighters down like Matt Hamill, who is difficult to take down, with relative ease. Matyushenko and Vera both have pretty good wrestling credentials, but Jones took them down with no problem.
Also with the striking, I do feel that Jones is the more creative striker, but I have yet to see good technique from him. Contrarily, in Davis’s last fight against Boetsch, Davis looked to have really improved his striking technique.

I think Franklin is a little better across the board in terms of technique, and has an edge in speed, but I don’t know if that will be enough to overcome the humongous difference in size.
If Forrest turns this into a grappling/clinching match, I he will wear Rich down and have his way with him. If Rich can manage to keep this fight at striking distance, I think he will outpoint Forrest.

But the young lady interviewing R. Franklin is really annoying. She constantly interrupts, interjects, and distracts. It would be awesome if we could hear RF answer her questions without having to hear how great of a cook she is. Maybe after he’s finished his sentence, but not during!
Can I get banned for reporter bashing? Cuz I feel like this is more constructive criticism than anything else. But just in case, I’ll even things out…

If its not sarcasm, you’re misinformed. There are a lot of ways to make people open up, but interrupting mid-sentence in order to talk about one’s self is not among them. But, as yours is likely a layman’s perspective, I forgive you your ignorance.

Lol but yeah man I agree with you she isn’t much of a reporter, if memory serves didn’t she ask Matt Hamill if he listens to music before fights to get pumped up….. That aside Forrest does everything Franklin does but better and he definitely has size on his side. Forrest by decision but a interesting fight even tho it has no real meaning in the division.

This fight can either be a great fight, or end quickly…
The thing is yes forrest is great in all aspects of the game and so is freankilin. But i think franklin has an advantage on the feet, forest needsto stay away from the clinch and try to take it to the ground, forrest has great ground and pound and submissions, he can also stay away from those knees that way.
I think Franklin should keep it standing his striking is always getting better, he knocked out quarry beat the crap out of loiseau on the feet and just knocked out the great chuck liddel (an older chuck, but still a chuck!). i believe griffins submissions are better (I mean he set up a rear naked with a freaking omaplata vs rua!) as well so he would be smart to keep it on the feet, unless hes confident that he could get a full mount
its going to be a great fight, a little bit of an advantage to franklin stand up wise, but griffin always comes to fight and besides 1 time (vs silva) he never disapoints!

a out of shape one just like the one rashard is going get. his cardio is going be crap for that fight but i hope he still wins anyway.
