BJ Penn Talks New Cornermen at UFC 123 - Mandaloniz and McCully

At the 0:17 min mark:
"We're just trying to get a different look. Just going with some different ideas. We all still train together. I've actually trained with both (Rudy Valentino and Jason Parrillo) while preparing for the fight. But up here, as far as the corner goes, we've got different ideas, we've got a different game plan. Our last two fights didn't go the way we wanted and we're all in agreement that we want to put something together and get a victory."
And Penn's new cornermen talk to Fighters Only:
"He looked like he didn't have the best gas tank in the last two fights," said Team Penn head coach Troy Mandaloniz. "We were still trying to figure out the regimen, and over-training was a problem in the past. Now we're getting optimum performance, and we're totally satisfied with this training camp -- where the last camp I had my questions.

"He's at the perfect weight, and he's going to be a stronger and faster animal tomorrow," lead strategist Justin McCully added. "B.J. was the guy to pave the road and go for it, and it's always been his destiny to carry the torch."

Penn has the optimal training regimen and is in the best shape of his life. When have I heard this before?

Who’s your spiritual adviser – Rampage?

Luke: What was our best moment?
Nate: When I banned Subo?
Luke: That was a good one.

Something about Troy Mandaloniz from his time in TUF

that just didnt strike me as someone i would want in my corner or in some type of leadership position in my camp. I know Penn wants to keep his peeps from where he’s from but cmon.

These guys seem to get along pretty well

ITs basically the same corner. I mean Jason Parillo isnt there anymore, but Justin McCully is training out of a lot of the same gyms. Its basically BJ’s people.

Im a huge BJ fan and I used to train out of a gym that BJ trained at sometimes, so I would see Jason Parillo and McCully a lot, and my old boxing coach was one of BJ’s sparring partners. While he has different people in his corner, I believe it is all the same mindset. I still hope he crushes hughes tho.
