UFC 122: Marquardt vs. Okami Live Results and Commentary

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results and commentary for UFC 122: Marquardt vs. Okami. The live blog will start with the beginning of the main card (3 p.m. ET) so be sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

The event features a main event of Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami and an explosive co-main event of Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara.

This post will be your home for the broadcast as it happens LIVE, it will NOT be free of spoilers in the comments for those waiting for the Spike TV broadcast. You've been warned.

As always we have our one rule: NO SPOILERS! In the interest of not ruining anything from the undercard that may make the broadcast we ask that you do not discuss the results of the undercard in the comments until either the broadcast ends or the fight makes the air.

[UPDATE] - Alessio Sakara out of his co-main-event:

MMAjunkie.com has confirmed with UFC officials that an illness has forced Alessio Sakara out of his co-main-event bout with Jorge Rivera. The fight has been scrapped from tonight's card. Ludwig vs. Osipczak has been promoted to the main card.


Duane Ludwig vs. Nick Osipczak

Round 1 - Marc Goddard the referee. Both fighters open with kicks, Ludwig is stalking in the center of the cage. Both fighters going high and low with kicks, but landing nothing major. Beautiful counter left hook under a duck by Ludwig, follow by a nice head kick. Osipczak clinches and forces the American's back to the fence. Counter left hook lands again and continues to stalk the Brit. Big knee lands for Ludwig as Osipczak reaches for Ludwig's hips. Now a big right hand lands for Osipczak. Ludwig throwing much more thorough combinations. Ludwig is dropped with a monster punch. Osipczak takes mount and transitions to side control. Ludwig is now cut and bleeding. Osipczak drags Ludwig back to he floor and works from Ludwig's full guard. Ludwig was doing well early, but getting dropped changes everything. 10-9 Osipczak.

Round 2 - Osipczak is standing south paw with Ludwig orthodox. Again the left lands for Ludwig, but only glancing. Again Ludwig is stalking and Osipczak's hands are really low. Ludwig is the busier fighter but not landing much of anything heavy. Osipczak forces a clinch against the fence, but Ludwig wrestles free and returns to the center of the cage. Nice body kick by Ludwig. Osipczak literally reaches for a single leg on Ludwig and gets it. Ludwig working butterfly guard. Ref stands them up due to inactivity. Ludwig tries to takedown Osipczak as the bell sounds, but nothing doing. Close round, but I'll give it to Ludwig for doing more damage. 10-9 Ludwig.

Round 3 - Ludwig changes levels for a takedown and tries to get behind Osipczak, but is Osipczak changes levels and tries a takedown of his own. Nothing doing either way. Ludwig is still the one stalking. Fighters clinch but then separate. Ludwig lands a nice body shot. And another. Ludwig lands a right straight that backs up Osipczak. The Brit looks exhausted. Bang lands another body and an elbow. Big knee from Ludwig in the clinch. Right straight, left hook now from Ludwig. Osipczak is just getting beat on at this point with more than a minute to go at the time of this writing. Ludwig now landing but nothing major is hurting Osipczak. Ludwig transitions from a single to a double leg attempt that barely lands as the round expires. Easy 10-9 round for Ludwig.

Kryzsztof Soszynski vs. Goran Reljic

Round 1 - Both fighters come out aggressive, charging at each other. Reminder: both fighters standing south paws. Middle kick for Reljic lands. Soszynski slips, but quickly scrambles to his feet. Another left middle kick by Reljic. Soszynski chasing with winging right hooks, but none lands. Reljic tries for a double leg in the center of the cage, pushes against the fence and can't get it. Referee Marc Goddard separates the two. Nice outside leg kick by Soszynski. Another knee tap attempt from Reljic, but this time he gets it. Soszynski immediately going for the kimura on the left side of Reljic. The round ends there. 10-9 Reljic.

Round 2 - Soszynski opens the round with a big left hand and body kick. Reljic lands a double leg in the center of the cage. Reljic working now on top. Neither fighter appears to be doing much from this position and the crowd is getting restless. Referee Marc Goddard stands the fighters back up. Soszynski presses Reljic against the cage and the two fighters jockey for position there. Referee Marc Goddard separates the two from the fence after more inactivity. 10-10.

Round 3 - Reljc opens with a left straight. And another. Reljic dives from Soszynski's legs, but from far outside and with no set up. After the sprawl, Soszynski cleared Reljic's arm to spin to his back. From there Soszynski is now pounding on Reljic. Reljic is rolling for the kneebar, but that only makes things worse. Reljic rolls to his back, but Soszynski stands and lets Reljic stand as well. Goran leans for another takedown, but the shot is easily stuffed. Soszynski sets up the standing kimura. Reljic escapes, but eats some shots along the way. Reljic appears to be exhausted and falls to his back to avoid a knee in the clinch. Soszynski now in side control and beating no Reljic. Reljic rolls to his right hip and captures half guard. Soszynski stands and is pounding on Reljic now, but the round ends before he can put him away. 10-9 Soszynski.

Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sobotta

Round 1 - Sobotta comes out south paw. Both fighters whiff with kicks. Sadollah charges in with punches and the two fighters clinch. The fighters separate and again Sadollah charges in. The fighters clinch along the fence again and the two are now jockeying for position. Sobotta lands a nice right hand as Sadollah charges in. Beautiful inside leg kick for Sadollah. Head kicks misses by Sadollah and now Sobotta has his back. Sadollah tries to break Sobotta's grip and turn in and does. Amir pummels in for double underhooks but Sobotta is still pursuing the the takedown. Sadollah ends the round with a push kick. Tough to score. 10-9 Sadollah.

Round 2 - Sadollah closing the distance and showing a ton of feints. Lands several nice leg kicks. Sobotta, though, lands a leg kick of his own. Head kick and teep for Sadollah don't do much, but the pace is picking up now and the American is really applying the pressure. Both fighters exchanging punches and Sadollah lands a nice hand. Now a straight left. Modified superman punch for Sadollah misses. Fighters exchange middle kicks. Sobotta nearly gets a single, but the second he hit the ground Amir popped right back up. Excellent right hand to the body by Sadollah. Another deep inside leg kick by Sadollah lands. Sobotta throws a kick and slips, Sadollah moves into half guard. Sadollah throwing a lot, but not landing much. Another outside leg kick for Sadollah and a knee to the body. 10-9 Sadollah.

Round 3 - the round begins where the last round left off. Outside and inside leg kicks landing almost at will for Sadollah now. Sadollah going back and forth between south paw and orthodox. Another outside leg kick for Sadollah. Sobotta catches a kick and attempts a single and then a double against the fence, but nothing doing. Sadollah lands another leg kick, but eats this punch time. Two more kicks land now. And another. Both fighters miss with punches as Sadollah rushes in, but quickly backs out. Another leg kick for the American. More offense from Sadollah, although most of the punches are missing. Sadollah just volume-attacked his way to a win. 10-9 Sadollah.

Dennis Siver vs. Andre Winner

Round 1 - Referee Kevin Mulhall in the cage. Fighters start the round hard exchanging leg kicks and winging punches. Monster leg kick by Winner. More trading leg kicks by both fighters. Siver throwing and barely missing on two-punch combinations. Now Siver goes for a double and can't get it. More leg kicks from Siver. And one more outside for Winner. Big overhand right for Siver barely misses. Siver is the more aggressive fighter now and throwing more attacks. Big punch drops Winner. Wisver goes to knee on belly dropping huge shots. Winner survives and gives his back. Siver takes the back and blocks one of Winner's arms with his hooks. Winner then taps on the Gable-gripped rear naked choke.

Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami

Round 1 - Referee Leon Roberts is the third man in the cage. Okami is standing south paw, Marquardt in orthodox. Okami goes for a takedown, but is stuffed and almost gets caught in a guillotine. Now Marquardt in Okami's double butterfly guard. Marquardt swivels his hips over and passes to half guard to the left. Okami tries to stand and Marquardt almost jumps guillotine, but Okami escapes. The Japanese middleweight now working on top. Okami moves to half guard and throwing small strikes. Marquardt swivels his hips, turns them over to attempt a leg lock, which creates a scramble. Both fighters stand. Straight left lands for Okami and he changes levels for a takedown, but can't get it. Okami going for a trip, but can't get it. Okami finally gets a double leg. THe round ends there. Extremely close round. Okami did more, however. 10-9 Okami.

Round 2 - Okami dives for another takedown, but nothing doing. Nate goes for a single, but Okami positions out. Okami dives again for a takedown against the fence, but can't get it. Okami goes for a trip, but in poor positioning is reversed. Excellent balance by Marquardt. Okami is able to stand, scramble and escape. Nice outside leg kick by Marquardt, but Okami again attempts the takedown. The fighters now separate and a left hand lands for Okami. Okami attempts jumping knee, but is tagged with a big punch by Marquardt. One more for good measure as the round ends. 10-9 Marquardt.

Round 3 - Fighters trading punches in the middle, neither landing much but Okami is controlling the cage. Excellent right hand counter from Marquardt. Right hand now for Okami. Okami throwing a lot now, but missing on most. Two big left hands for Okami find the mark. Nice jab now from Okami. Okami light on his feet here adjusting distance and controlling the center of the cage. Left hands land for both fighters here. Fighters clinch in the center, Marquardt changes levels and gets a nice double leg. Okami stands back up and continues to press Marquardt. Left hand now for Okami. Marquardt lands a right as the round ends. Incredibly tough to score. 10-9 Okami, but could go either way.
