Gotta agree. Stephens has a chin and some heavy hands, and Davis, as much as I like the guy, is past his prime, and Davis knows it. Nonetheless, this fight should be a fun fight, and I would be surprised if there was not a finish in this one. I can’t see this going the Guillard/Stephens route, but your typical Stephens/Davis type of fight.

I don’t understand all the hate towards Edgar… the dude literally put on a boxing clinic against Penn twice in a row, not to mention the fact that h e was an extreme underdog in both cases. The guy is a scrapper… what’s not to like about him?

well then if not to ddub, than to all the others on this site...
It seems to be the consensus here…

Shogun played it smart against Machida, by pressuring him constantly… There was nothing safe about that really…

Not trying to hate,
Not trying to hate, but I hope that Davis beats Stephens badly. Not just because I like Davis, but also because I think it’s past time that Stephens quits calling out guys to have stand up wars with and starts progessing the rest of his game. Perhaps another loss will force him to do just that.

You have a strong point. Stephens should look at Davis fight with Chris Lytle as an indication of what Davis will do standing. Punch, circle, attempt to cut off angles and go for a takedown when he realizes that Stephens has heavy hands.
Stephens really need to change his focus or just compete in kickboxing, muay thai or boxing so he doesn’t have to worry about the ground or clinching.

The entire card really makes up for the lackluster main event. I just hope Edgar and Maynard proves me wrong and have a great 5-round fight that ends in a unanimous decision.

Considering the damage he's taken and his age
I’m actually worried for Marcus cutting down to LW. He might make Irvin look like a plump little dumpling.
Jeremy,
Unless the World Combat League gets going again, you are going to have to stop expecting your opponents to waltz into your power shots.

IDK man
Been a while since we’ve seen a good performance by Davis. I’m a huge fan of the Irish Hand Grenade, but I think his time is done.

It's funny because
When Stephens knocked off Sam Stout (who was a guy i supported to finally make a run) i thought “oh well, now Stephens make can get it together and get somewhere in the division”.
But then he goes on this brawl mode where he won’t even try to take it to ground instead of looking for his super right hand all the frikkin time.
It’s the same with everyone. When someone get’s a couple of those sweet knockouts like he got on Dos Anjos they become intoxicated with the feeling and wants so desperately to feel that again that they won’t try anything else.
See Rashad evans before his loss to Machida, see Jorge Gurgel, see Dustin Hazelett wanting to stand with Daley, see Koscheck. And on and on and on.
It's because
knocking someone unconscious is one of the greatest feelings a man will ever experience.
Holy hell, ANOTHER awesome fight at 125
I thought there was a legal limit for the amount of awesome allowed at one MMA Event.
But I guess not.
If every post-merger card is gonna look something like this, I’ll go crazy.
CPG
And I hadn't even found out about Brown vs Nunes when I made that comment
Please Spike, 1.5 or 2 hour prelim special? Just this once?
CPG
OMFG

Hell Yaah!!!
If I wake up tomorrow and see that the world has ended, then that means God has finally granted my prayers.
GO Armageddon!!!
