The UFC Heavyweight Grand Prix Nobody Has Noticed

Figured this would be fun, and make a few who miss Pride happy, or at least crack a grin. It's been shaping up for over 1 year now. When Lesnar avenged his loss to Frank Mir, it was the only way to truly decide who the #1 heavyweight in the world was.

Round 1 pt 1 - UFC 102

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Randy Couture - Nogueira wins via Unanimous Decision

Gabriel Gonzaga vs Chris Tuchscherer - Gonzaga wins via TKO(punches) at 2:27 of round 1

Round 1 pt 2 - UFC 104

Cain Velasquez vs Ben Rothwell - Cain Velasquez wins via TKO(punches) at :58 of round 2

Round 1 pt 3 - The Ultimate Finale 10

Roy Nelson vs Brendan Schaub - Roy Nelson wins via KO(punch) at 3:45 of round 1

Round 1 pt 4 - UFC 106

*Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin - Brock Lesnar pulled out of his fight with Carwin due to illness. As the current Champion, Lesnar is given a BYE into the 2nd round in order to have time to recover from his illness. Carwin's Round 1 fight is postponed, with a fill in opponent to be determined at a later date.

Round 1 pt 5 - UFC 107

Stefan Struve vs Paul Buentello - Struve wins via Majority Decision

*Frank Mir defeats Cheick Kong via Submission (guillotine choke) at 1:12 of round 1 to qualify to face Shane Carwin in the last Round 1 fight.

Since Carwin was originally set to face Lesnar in the first round, and since Mir had gone 1-1 against Lesnar already, it is decided that the winner of this fight will face Lesnar in the 2nd round.

Round 1 pt 6 - UFC 108

Junior Dos Santos vs Gilbert Yvel - Dos Santos wins via TKO (punches) at 2:07 of round 1

With only a single Round 1 fight remaining, and with the winner of the Carwin/Mir fight promised as Lesnar's opponent in round 2...the 2nd round bracket is determined and the fights commence.

Round 2 pt 1 - UFC 110

Cain Velasquez vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Velasquez wins via KO(punches) at 2:20 of round 1

Round 2 pt 2 - UFC LIVE: Vera vs Jones

Junior Dos Santos vs Gabriel Gonzaga - Dos Santos wins via KO(punches) at 3:53 of round 1

Round 1 pt 7 - UFC 111

Shane Carwin vs Frank Mir - Carwin wins via KO(punches) at 3:48 of round 1.

Round 2 pt 3 - UFC Fight Night 21

Roy Nelson vs Stefan Struve - Nelson wins via TKO(punches) at :39 of round 1

In the weeks leading up to the final Round 2 fight, it is decided that Dos Santos will face Nelson as the first fight of the 3rd round, with Velasquez facing the winner of Lesnar/Carwin as the final 3rd round fight.

Round 2 pt 4 - UFC 116

Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin - Lesnar wins via Submission(arm triangle choke) at 2:19 of round 2

Round 3 pt 1 - UFC 117

Junior Dos Santos vs Roy Nelson - Dos Santos wins via Unanimous Decision

Round 3 pt 2 - UFC 121

Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez

Grand Prix Final - Date TBA

Lesnar/Velasquez winner vs Junior Dos Santos

And the winner of that bout will be crowned the UFC Heavyweight Grand Prix winner and undisputed #1 heavyweight in the world. That was actually a lot of fun to think through.

NOTE: Jahbulon made a comment BEFORE I made this fanpost talking about almost the exact same thing, I had not seen the commend and did not realize he had beat me to it when I wrote this.
