gracie by sub.

Cause that’s what Roger does.
Fish swim
birds fly
Roger subs motherfuckers.

That’s what I was thinking too. Could obviously live without the Herschel fight, but it is what it is, and the rest of the card has lots of fun match-ups.

Moment Roger gets a hold of Mike it’s all over.

That's what people said about Randleman

And it didn’t turn out like that.

Well...

He did sub Randleman in the 2nd round. And Randleman’s wrestling ability is much, much higher then Kyle’s.

That said, I see Kyle winning via TKO round 1.

Randleman is a highly accomplished wrestler, people should have amended their statements in that fight to read: “Two moments after Roger gets a hold of Randleman it’s all over”… and it was… still.

Even so

It looked like he was gonna pop Randleman’s head off with that RNC. Shit was ridiculous.

Way to go Strikeforce

Looks to be a quality show…. so far looks better then the TUF Finale

Was hoping Feijao could avenge his loss but I suppose this fight will do.

Interesting. One connection from Kyle and it’s over. Roger gets him down and it’s over.

There is still something compelling about a clash of styles like this. So are we getting the impression the winner may be in line for a shot at the belt?

I’m pretty sure this will be a LHW fight, that’s where Roger fought last.

Randleman hit 205?

Weird, I could have sworn that fight was at HW.

by Polyhedron on Oct 7, 2010 1:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Randleman hasn’t fought at HW in years. He was actually contemplating making a run at 185 prior to his health woes.

by Steve4192 on Oct 7, 2010 2:58 PM EDT up reply actions

He hasn’t fought at HW since 2005(?) I think. After 3 straight losses at HW in pride he dropped to 205 and fought Shogun, only to get popped for turning in fake piss…

"Roger Gracie Tapped"

The only time you’re going to see that phrase and Mike Kyle in the same sentence.

Tough fight for Roger here

But he may as well hit the fast track. Really looking forward to this one. He gets Kyle on the mat and he’s waking up at the after party.

"I'm gonna go after number one, whoever it is. If it's Anderson, or I gotta go up after the guys at 205, or go on a diet and go after Jose Aldo-- it doesn't matter." -Chael Sonnen

Not saying I don't look forward to this,

Not saying I don’t look forward to this, but it seems like a match which really should not have been made… Yet at least.

Kyle has 25 fights against Gracie’s 3 with only one of those being in the last two years. Are we really supposed to just forgive the records because Gracie is a world class BJJ tournament competitor? Apparently so…

by Empty Thoughts on Oct 7, 2010 12:32 PM EDT reply actions

Sonnen had 33 fights vs Maia who had ten fights at the time.
Horn had 111 fights vs Baker’s 16 fights.

What does number of fights have to do with anything?

will be there live for this event, not a bad drive from kc. I look forward to this matchup but just hope they add at least one maincard heavyweight fight, hopefully featuring bigfoot silva. Looks like a good card.

I’ll believe Roger Gracie is actually fighting for Strikeforce when the cage door closes, with him inside the cage.

What's so hard to believe?

He’s done it before.

With all these good fights

Some are going to have to be prelims.

To me, it is always a privilege to watch Roger Gracie fight in MMA. I honestly do find it something of a novelty because Roger just does not fight in MMA very much, and he is actually getting a very solid-but-not-spectacular fighter in Mike Kyle. This is actually a very good fight in my opinion for both fighters.
