This will be so epic.
Both men are so goddamn confident. This is the true test of Cain man. If Cain can beat a D1 wrestler THAT big and technical on the ground who also has a good chin he’s even more for real.
I’m, most of all, so interested in what Cain will do to win this fight.

Most anticipated fight of the year for me for sure. Can’t fucking wait! All signs point to Cain winning via superior striking, pace, endurance, actually using his wrestling in fights, but damn Lesnar is a FREAK of nature. Should be epic. If Brock wins this I think I’m ready to crown him #1 in the world.

I would like to see him make some more improvements in the striking game
Before I say he is unbeatable… He has grown as a MMA fighter in every bout by leaps and bounds but he is clearly not that technically sound with his hands which is a shame when you consider the power he has breaking Herring’s orbital bone on the first punch.
I just want to see him get to a decent level with his hands so he can at least give you a Chael Sonnen before taking you to the floor.
I want to see Cain dressed as a plumber, just so I can see Brock throw barrels at him.

The delay just forced the UFC to pretend like he actually was a top contender. Cain over Rothwell was a better fight than Carwin’ garbage win over Gonzaga.

With the poor showing he had against Kongo, followed by a barely relevant win over Rothwell. His next fight would have been against a guy in the bottom of the top 10.
Lots of guys have been thrown at the top spot for different reasons. Anyone naive enough to believe that the UFC didn’t consider Cain’s ability to bring in a relatively untapped market has no understanding of business.

Cain is definitely not a midcard HW, he is a super talented fighter who is more than deserving of the title shot. But, I really think you are right with Race amplifying the UFC hype machine…Anaheim is in the center of one of the more mexican concentrated areas in the country, doesn’t sound like coincedence. The UFC is also trying to make a giant push to become a worldwide sport and what better way than getting some more fans or boxing crossover fans than having the “First Mexican Heavyweight Champ”

It has been used for things other than conquering and enslaving. Africans had different type of slaves than Europeans (white people) Africans could identify with their slaves and also saw humanity in them while white people because of their different skin color, hair, language etc could not identify and treated them inhumane.
Also Africans would only keep slaves from a conquered nation if those people were willing to be slaves not forced. Why would they be willing? because their house land etc was gone.

I have never seen the term White Pride used for anything other than a term of racial hatred. That would be the difference. I’m pretty sure that’s not why Cain has Brown Pride tattooed across his chest.

Yeah, that seemed pretty obvious. From a marketing perspective I can understand that, and if it gives MMA a bigger fanbase, I guess I’m okay with it even if they’re pandering a bit.
I'd love to see more mexicans in the UFC/WEC more great finds those guys fight hard.

That was totally lame. It didn’t even have any interesting eye candy like some of the Primetime/Countdown shows. 24/7 and Fight Camp 360 might be more flash than substance, but at least they give you a somewhat unvarnished look into the real-life drama leading up to a fight. Primetime has narrative punch of a book report by comparison.
I don't get all the butthurtness
about playing up Cain’s heritage. The UFC is a business; Hispanics are a large fucking crowd. Your going to fault the UFC for trying to BROADEN the MMA audience? What the fuck.
Maybe my own Mexican-Americaness is speaking here, but give me a break guys. It’s good for the sport. I have mexican friends who don’t know a single fighter besides Cain; yet they continue to talk about how excited they are to watch him fight for the first time.
And seriously? You guys are complaining about how boring Cain is? About how unecessary it is to showcase his past? Maybe, but that’s the point of the show; an all access pass. How can you act as if the Brock segments arent HOLY SHIT BROCK LESNAR LIFTING HUGE WEIGHTS. GAGRHHSH MORE OF THAT.

The 121 trailer is doing too much of it too. “Throughout fighting history, there has never been a Mexican HW champion… Cain Velasquez will try to make history, and become the first Mexican HW champion”. Do they really have to be that redundant in a 30 second spot?
I was impressed with how they showcased Cain’s intensity, but the other 25 minutes where wholly underwhelming to me. Past primetimes were a lot better, IMO, and I think even Strikeforce is doing better with the Noons-Diaz promos.
Maybe it’ll get better in parts II and III.
Cain will win
Brock’s carrying a lot of extra weight from fan boys clinging to his nuts. Seriously I almost thought this was a Bravo Channel blog with all the grown men internet drooling over this guy.

you stop by after he wins. You can come up with another reason as to why he will lose to JDS and also talk shit about his fans again. It’s kind of a recurring theme isn’t it?

Notice how much bigger Brock got after he was in college? I know you guys love this guy and think he’s a freak, but to me, he looks like a guy who was athletic but roid’ed up a LOT in college and became a freak.
Judging by his personality, I can totally see him being the type to work out like a crazy person and roid up just the same to be the best.

Brock was one of the most tested athletes in College wrestling history. Most people bulk up in college due to great lifting programs and dietary aid.

To save me some time on 25% of all threads, here's the universal answer to the Fedor-debate: Fedor is the most accomplished MMA fighter ever. That is a fact. If he still is the best fighter at this point in time is up for debate.

Warning: The following knowledge is about to be dropped upon you.
UFC/Zuffa is smart. Really smart. Cain went to Miami, not becuase theres tons of Mexicans there. There isn’t. He went to tape the show you saw Aqui y Ahora. Basically a ginormously popular TV show among ALL Latinos. My parents actually saw that episode they showed there so he knows who Cain is now. I showed him the Rothwell fight from my DVR. He’s a fan.
Theres nothing wrong with them showing and talking about Cains dad. HBO actually does this alot too. With Marquez, Mayweather, Pac all showing family side stories.
This was the first episode, they usually suck. It will get better once they tape the fighters reactions from the previos weeks show.
Of freaking course theyre gonna play up the Mexican angle. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Hello? Is this thing on? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I just hope it gets better. But I just really don’t see them having much material to work from considering their source. These guys aren’t Delahoya or Mayweather. People aren’t interested in farm boys and picking oranges. People want to see guys that are extroverted and don’t give a shit about what they say on camera. i.e. Mayweather.
