I’m not sure anyone really feels like fighting a roided up gorilla who espouses morality, values, honor and integrity in the sport he competes in while secretly cheating by loading up illegal PEDs.
But hey, whatever. As long as the guy can run away from Carwin for like 8 minutes the lactic acidosis will set in and Carwin will fall over cramping.

yup because it’s proven that he still is taking roids in the UFC.

Take a look at him. I mean, I’m bias here because I don’t like the guy but seriously being that big w/ that sort of muscle definition is close to impossible without some chemical help.

His current physique is very big but not well defined or ripped. It’s actually a bit soft witha lot of bodyfat. Now his pre-UFC physique is another matter and it’s not surprising he was allegedly takind roids then when you look at him. He’s become significantly softer looking when he’s above 265. The fights he was lean was when he weighed in lower than 260. I mean based on what you just said, Brock must be on roids to considering how big and lean he was for 117 right?

I have my suspicions of Carwin
and I certainly don’t appreciate his “holier than thou” attitude, but if a person could just look at someone and convict them of guilt, then there would be no need for a court system. Was he using steroids at one time in his career? Maybe. Strong possibility. But has he been caught red handed? No. A name on a list is not red handed.
I’m a huge Carwin fan, but I certainly lost some respect for him after the steroid list, which considering his silence is pretty telling to the validity. But at the same time to act like because an athlete once used they must currently be using depsite not getting popped for it is a bit unfair, especially when you are basing the argument on their physique, particularlly when you look at Carwin’s last opponent. The current system has it’s flaws but it’s all we have to go by. We might as well be casting out stones at every fighter in that case.
I mean where’s all the hate for Marquardt, Leben, Sherk, Vitor, etc. etc? They all got caught juicing so I guess they must still be using right, despite not getting popped again? Double standards

For sure.
I’m not naive, I have my own suspicions and thoughts on PEDs in MMA, but it’s a bad route to go down if you start calling people out based off their physical appearance. Lies have a habit of sticking around longer than the truth, and the last thing we need is to encourage random dudes on the computer making accusations based off what they think they know about PEDs. Heck, I don’t even care if they have personal experience with illegally prescribed drugs. Last I checked, it was innocent until proven guilty.

That is certainly substantial evidence that he bought them, and I will concede that is highly likely that if he bought ‘em, he used ’em, but plenty of fighters have been busted using and BE doesn’t allow people a free pass to attack them.
I get that BE has had a running feud with Carwin, but I really do wish you would crack down on the rampant fighter bashing of the guy in the comments. I know there is no love lost between Carwin & BE, but it reflects poorly on your site when you give the inmates free reign to attack the guy in the comments.
What attacks?

Do you think anyone at BE would tolerate comments about Vitor Belfort being a ‘roided up gorilla’? Or Nate Marquardt? Or Stephan Bonnar? Or Royce Gracie?
Of course not.
Because those guys are well liked and don’t have a personal beef with BE.
This is true

Let me ask this. If a guy takes roids and builds his muscles so he can bench say 100 lbs more than when he began and cycles off roids but keeps working out hard and retains the same strength didn’t the roids help him be not only who he was then but who he is today?
Yes

I draw a line between using roids to bulk up/recover and actually feeling their effects during a fight.

But, if a guy gets to the size and strength he does thru roids doesn’t that mean that whoever he fights will feel the effects of their size and strength that was obtained thru roids?
If one has done a cycle where their single max bench went up 100#, then it could only be during their first cycle. Having said that, the gains are not completely maintained, but a fairly high percentage can be maintained.
The problem lies in the training. The whole notion of “recovery” has to do with your muscles recovering from being torn down while lifting. Steroids enhance this process, allowing you to do more work in a shorter period of time without overtraining.

Or stop the chemical assistance so he can drop muscle mass and decrease the amount of lactic acid pumping into his system when he can’t supply the muscles with enough oxygen.

He had surgery last month, called out Big Nog recently too(Nog is out injured too). Originally they were talking Nelson vs Carwin but that may of fallen off the table with the knee surgery. Ben Rothwell is also out with injury, not sure who else they have for him to fight unless it’s one of the younger guys or maybe GG or Kongo.
GG and Kongo
I guess it could happen, but they would only have ~2½ months between fights. Not likely imo

If his knee is fine I think he’ll get Nelson. If not I have no idea. All the talent at HW is tied down. Guys like McCorkle prolly don’t have enough experience, whilst guys like Mir have already fought Shane.

No Mir rematch please...
It would be the same fight, Mir has proven his inability to follow game plan or copmpete with guys stronger than him that impose their will.
Give him Nelson, I want to see what Carwin’s power can do against that Chin Roy has… Not to mention the epic body shots on that belly.
Mirs heart is gone.
Not sure but I think between Lesnar and Carwin they ate the whole fucking thing.
It would be the same fight

I like seeing Mir knocked around as much as the next guy
But beating someone you already beat in dominating fashion and the champion already beat in dominating fashion doesn’t get you any closer to the belt that’s why it isn’t appealing.
likewise. The guy is exciting to watch. I’m curious to see how he handles his cardio issue or if it will be a factor. Honestly I don’t think we’ll see that answered because Carwin is hell for anyone in the first round and I just don’t believe anyone else in the HW can survive his intial onslaught

Mir rematch is too soon, GG and Kongo won’t have enough time between fights, Nelson’s knee could be messed up still. I don’t know about Nog’s injury situation, but if he’s ready it’s probably going to be him. Otherwise, Struve and Mitrione are the next guys…
Mitrione only has 2 fights under his belt… you’d have to be some kinda former WWE champ to get such a high ranked fighter that quick.
He has 3.
And he is (the way i see it) the second highest ranked fighter who is available for that particular date, assuming Nog and Nelson are out, and the Mir rematch doesn’t happen (it won’t).
I say make Mir fight Mitrione
make him atone for his fight against Mirko haha
The next guy down the Heavyweight rankings without a fight lined up is: Frank Mir … no one wants to see that yet. So…
Roy Nelson
Ben Rothwell
Stefan Struve
Pat Barry
The HW division is paper thin
There are only like two fights for this guy that are even possible.
"I am a man who pisses largely and frequently, which they say is a sign of great mental activity" -Henry Miller-
the division is thin outside of the top 4. It sucks that the UFC is trying to let Brock run through the division first because it holds up other potential interesting big fights. I’d like to see Carwin face JDS, but it aint happening.

Only way that might happen
Is if Lesnar – Cain becomes an immediate rematch, for whatever reasons, or there is a need for an interim title.

Actually it’s thin at the top, there a plenty of middle tier guys and even more low tier.
I'm a lover not a fighter
Exactly its thin in the respect to the fact no one outside of the top 4, maybe 5, has any real shot at the belt.
When you look at divisions like lhw or lw, you see many potential guys who could be champion. Heavywieght, not so much.

I have been back in the gym for some time helping my team where ever I can. I am expecting to fight again around the New Year. I have a lot to prove and I hope the UFC finds me a worthy opponent. I want to be tested, I want a complete war.
I have been spending a lot of time with John Chamberg and have committed to following his crazy strength and conditioning routines. I can barely walk when we are done working out so I guess that is a good sign. I want to be in the best shape of my life for this next fight. I need to show the world of MMA that I have a place on top of the mountain.
We are working hard to show that I can be a worthy challenger to the throne. In the mean time I need to pay my dues, fight the fights given to me and show that I belong.

I hope the UFC finds me a worthy opponent
im pretty sure anybody in the UFC HW division is worthy to fight him i mean he does realize he lost right? He’s a challenger like all the rest. Only thing is nobody else in the division has popped up on a banned substance list multiple times. I expect a smaller Carwin his next fight and personally i hope he loses. Guy portrays one image when in fact he is the complete opposite.

Man talk about taking his words out of context. I’m sure he means someone who is a tough opponent for him and can put him right back in title contention, not some lower-teir guy who’s going to so nothing but add a W to his record.

Nelson’s chin looked good against Dos Santos. Carwin probably has more power though.
"I am a man who pisses largely and frequently, which they say is a sign of great mental activity" -Henry Miller-
I’m not as convinced in JDS power as most are. He lit up Cro-Cop and couldn’t put him out and couldn’t put out Nelson either. I don’t think Carwin will have that problem if he lands cleanly on Nelson.
Sucks because I like Big Roy, but I see no way he can win this
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Philippians 4:13
If he can survive the first round, he’s got a shot. I won’t believe Carwins patched up his gas tank until I see it in action. Of course, surviving the first round is still the issue.
True, although it depends on if Carwin goes nuts throwing punches like he did with Lesnar.
But him working with Chamberg is a good sign that he taking the right steps to imrove his conditioning.

Sources close to the fight, have confirmed that the organization is looking to match up contenders Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day.
Works for me. In my mind it was either gonna be Roy, the loser of Lesnar/Cain depending on how long Carwin was going to sit between fights. Those give him a much faster route back to a title shot than a rematch with Mir IMO.
I guess that means that Struve will get Mitrione and Mir will wait for Nog
I never get my predicted matchups right though, so who knows. Damn you Joe Silva!
In a fight with Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson I have...
Carwin winning by manhandling Nelson and breaking him within the first 2 or 3 minutes.
If Carwin can't finish him in round 1....
Bandwagon leader for Michael Robinson as Seattle Seahawks starting QB.
Saying he is gonna give someone his gloves if he does something that is nearly impossible is just stupid.
This is a bad fight for Nelson, cause I see Nelson standing and trading the whole fight like he did with JDS.
especially coming off an injury
There’s a great chance that Roy will not be 100% by January and a less than 100% Roy = a Knocked unconscious Roy
