Earlier this year in January when I had to decide if I would reenlist or not. I had the option of going to Korea or Ft. Hood, Texas
I chose Korea because I hate Texas and Ft. Hood sucks monkey balls. But just being able to go to a live event would have been worth the 2-3yrs of having to be there. =(
The days as champ are done... but the juggernaut known as Brock Lesnar will return.
Not it wouldn't have
Ft. Hood is the worst duty station in the world.

If my choices were Ft. Polk and Ft. Hood
Hood hands down….

Is this Hague Rd. 3?

That was one of the most awkward matches ever...

Watching Kimbo attempt to sink in a rear naked
After all the jokes of Kimbo winning by rear naked was god damn awesome

Hague, the recipient of Duffee’s 7s KO, is back, while Duffee himself is out. Crazy world, my friends.

Interesting observation. That is odd. Both Hague’s decision losses were a bit dubious.

Duffe hasn’t won a fight since knocking out Hague. Meanwhile, Hague has two stoppage victories in the last four months.
There is something to be said for remaining active. You can’t win the game from the sidelines. Hague got his ass right back in the cage and earned another shot. Duffee sat on the sidelines.
That is odd that this fight falls on a saturday
I dont remember a fight night or fight for the troops happening on a saturday before
I hope this means it's live on the West Coast

What a weird piece of matchmaking
Hague was a can in his last UFC run. I guess they’re really serious about building Mitrione and giving him time.
"One thing I will never do is I will never say never." -Dana White
Well yeah
The guy is 3-0 and all three of his professional fights have been inside the Octagon. Mitrione has the ability to be really good but like any prospect he’s going to have to come along slowly. He is as naturally gifted as BROCK LESNAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so he’s going to have to fight a bunch of low level guys until he’s ready for the next step. TUF 10 is already paying off for the UFC, Mitrione, Schaub, and Madsen are all looking like really good prospects and Roy Nelson has already snatched up a few wins and was, as unbelievable as it sounds, one win over JDS away from a title shot.
I don’t really see it that way. Hague got smoooooked by Duffie, then lost what seemed like a pretty BS majority decision to Tuchscherer (and if a “majority decision” isn’t the definition of a beating, then I don’t know what is!) and frankly, I felt like Hague won the Beltran fight though that one honestly could have gone to Beltran. So that’s hardly a “can”; Hague does have some skills, has a good deal of power, and is a great gatekeeper for the entry level of HW. That’s pretty much where Mitrione is right now: at the entry to the division.

Geez, what dirt does Hague have on Joe Silva?
I know he’s won two straight fights by KO, but he’s been released two different times by the UFC…he’s really got enough upside to bring him back a third time?
My only guess is that this is a fight to build up Mitrione. Maybe the UFC doesn’t want Mitrione fighting the mid-tiers of the division yet like Kongo or someone like that to give Mitrione more seasoning.

Mitrione will obliterate Hague
Are they trying to one-up the last Troops card?

I like Hague. I hope he sticks around this time.

Does this mean the Afghanistan card isn't happening?
I’m not complaining, I thought that would be difficult to accomplish. Doing it at Fort Hood is awesome not only because it’s for the troops but because of the unfortunate shooting last year. It’s cool for the UFC/mma to show support for them.
I think Mitrione will win this one.
But it’s nice to see Hague get another chance. From what I recall, quite a few websites scored the Tucscherer and Beltran fights for Hague, and so him being cut after those fights was kinda sour.
Still don’t think Hague will win this one
CPG
Yeah he caught some bad luck in both those fights. He’s getting better but Meathead will probably mess him up here. Hague’s decent on the ground though.

hmmmm
this is a weird but interesting fight.
that hague ko over wiuff was totally badass.
dont think he’ll do that to mitrione tho.
mitrione’s boxing got sooooooo good.
i’ll take mitrione via decision
can someone give me some info on mitrione. i’ve seen all his ufc fights and watched him on ultimate fighter but i don’t get why they would sign a dude with no mma fights. does he have a background in another combat sport?
Mir, Aldo , Axe Murderer , Bones, Nightmare
If i got tied to a chair in a room with nothing but a TV and was forced to watch one thing for the rest of my life, it would be the WEC.
yeah, that TUF HW season had a lot of pseudo-NFL veterans, ranging from guys who were former first round picks with several years experience to guys who were on a practice squad for a month or so. Mitrione was one of the former NFL guys they brought on in an effort to increase mainstream sports legitimacy and notoriety.
Offensive Lineman, which Mitrione was, should count. He also wrestled in High School, but no real notable accomplishments

That’s a huge step back for a guy that was just in a number 1 contender’s fight.

Okay, let’s look at some other options:
-Velasquez: next fight is against JDS
-JDS: next fight is against Velasquez
-Lesnar: is almost certainly going to fight Mir next and he’s not going to be fighting on a B-show anyway.
-Mir: is almost certainly going to fight Lesnar next.
-Carwin: is having surgery
-Nogueira: possibility here, but there’s a very good chance he won’t be healthy by then.
-Brendan Schaub: Nelson knocked him out just last year and no one is calling for a rematch right now.
-Cro Cop: possible, but I’d really hope they’d give Cro Cop an easier fight next to help salvage his career while he still has some drawing power.
-Ben Rothwell: probably will not be healthy by then, plus do you really want to headline a military themed show with two guys who look out of shape?
-Stefan Struve: next fight is with Sean McCorkle, and Nelson just knocked him out earlier this year.
-Travis Browne: even though he just drew with Kongo, not many people know who he is and he’s still less marketable than Kongo.
-Pat Barry: Possible, but do you really wanna do that to Pat Barry?
-Sean McCorkle: next fight is with Stefan Struve.
Between the somewhat realistic options of Kongo, Browne, Barry, and Cro Cop, I have to go with Kongo. Basically unless Nogueira gets healthy a little faster than expected.
Stylistically, Kongo would be a good fight for Nelson because of Kongo’s lack of ground game. Also, Kongo has fought in the UFC for a long time and has a bit of a name, and it looks like Nelson wants to fight Heavyweights with some name value as shown when he was saying he’d like to fight Heavyweights like CroCop.

I for one was upset by..
Kongo’s last showing, he looked horrible, in every aspect of his game.
Hold on.
Hague lost to Beltran.
Mitrione beat Beltran.
Why should these two be meeting if the above is true?
What about one of them vs Mike Russow?

Morecraft could be an intreseting match for Mitrione.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Hague fight Browne too.
If Mitrione wins his fight then he should fight the winner of Hague vs. Browne

Well Russow beat Duffee who beat Hague in 7 seconds
so by the logic you’re using that fight would make even less sense.
