Erick Silva vs. Francisco Ayon
Round 1: Silva catches a left high kick from Ayon and drills him with a right straight. Quickly into side control goes Silva, where he traps Ayon's left arm between his legs. He switches to an arm-triangle choke, hops to the other side and gets the quick tap. Erick Silva is the first Jungle Fight welterweight champ.
Erick Silva def. Francisco Ayon via submission (arm-triangle choke) R1, 1:07
Edilberto "Crocota" de Oliveira vs. Andre Lobato
Round 1: Lobato shoots right in and goes for a leg lock, but Crocota stands and punches away to the head. Another leg lock attempt and they wind up back on the feet with Lobato taking a rear waistlock. Crocota squirms around and frees himself, and Lobato tries to pull guard, but the Bahian isn't having and wants him back up. Leg kicks from Crocota after he stuffs a few shots. He stuffs another and lands an uppercut, then tosses Lobato to the floor and tells him to stand. Well-timed punches from Crocota, who's dodging Lobato's counters and pointing mockingly to his chin. Crocota lands a kick to the body after the bell and is warned by referee Carlos Barreto. 10-9 Crocota.
Round 2: Takedown from Crocota early on and Lobato's looking pretty weary already. Lobato scrambles and grabs a guillotine, jumps guard to try and finish, but Crocota rolls free. Right straight from Crocota causes Lobato to shoot, but Crocota sprawls and avoids easily. He locks up a funky-looking guillotine from the top, turns it into an anaconda and rolls for the tap. Muito bom.
Edilberto "Crocota" de Oliveira def. Andre Lobato via submission (anaconda choke) R2, 2:49
Ildemar "Marajo" Alcantara vs. Jacko Quintana
Round 1: The fighters exchange for a minute before "Marajo" lands a perfectly-placed knee to the liver. Quintana falls down in agony and the fight's waved off. Brutal body shot for the KO.
Ildemar "Marajo" Alcantara def. Jacko Quintana via KO (knee to the body) R1, 1:26
Francisco Ayon vs. Fernando Martinez
Round 1: Clinch work early from Ayon, trying to drill knees into the midsection of Martinez, but they're only glancing. Spinning back kick connects for Ayon, who then sprawls on a Martinez double-leg. Ayon tries to leap in with a knee and winds up on his back with Martinez in side control. 10-9 Ayon, but 9-9 after a yellow card for rope grabbing early in the frame.
Round 2: More clinching. Ayon gets tripped to the mat, but winds up in Martinez's guard. He stands and tries to pass with an axe kick. Martinez grabs the leg and looks for a submission, but winds up turtling and eating punches before getting back to his feet. Martinez with a quick takedown and straight into side control, then hops into mount. He tries for an armbar, but Ayon stacks him up near the ropes. Martinez flattens the arm out and Ayon walks around him, into guard. Referee Barreto stands them up just as the round ends. 10-9 Ayon.
Round 3: Ayon with early the takedown, winds up swept by Martinez. Ayon tries to sweep back and has his back taken by the Argentine. Martinez softening him up for the rear-naked choke attempt with some shots to the face, but Ayon sweeps into Martinez's guard. Martinez uses a triangle attempt to regain top position. He's got Ayon's left arm in an omoplata with Ayon's belly to the mat, punching to the Mexican's unprotected face. Ayon gets the limb free after about 45 seconds and gets into Martinez's guard with 1:45 left on the clock. Absolutely no action from the exhausted Ayon on top, and referee Barreto wants them back up. Martinez immediately shoots, Ayon sprawls, and Martinez grabs for a kneebar while Ayon punches away. Ayon winds up in Martinez's guard, where the fight ends. 10-9 Martinez makes it a draw on my card, so the judges' decision should be interesting. I expect Ayon will take it.
Francisco Ayon def. Fernando Martinez via split decision
Gil de Freitas vs. Erick Silva
Round 1: Gil ducks some pawing hooks from Silva and grabs a waistlock, briefly takes his back standing, then goes back to shoving Silva's back into the ringpost. Silva goes airborn momentarily and De Freitas slams him to the mat, but the X-Gym product pops back to his feet. High single-leg takedown from Gil this time, but again Silva is instantly back up. Knees from the clinch by Silva wobble Gil, but De Freitas regains his balance and dumps Silva down with a double. With a minute left, Silva bucks and rolls smoothly into mount. Short punches from the top as Silva flattens De Freitas out. 10-10.
Round 2: Gil slapping kicks to the body of Silva, trips him to the mat, but Silva's right back up. De Freitas looks for another takedown, briefly gets caught in a guillotine. Silva releases the hold and Gil takes him for another ride to the ground. De Freitas is trying to mount offense from the top, but it's mostly arm punches and shoulder shrugs. Nonetheless, 10-9 De Freitas.
Round 3: No surprise, De Freitas goes for a takedown immediately and eats a knee from Silva. He slams Silva to the mat anyway. They stand, and Silva drops De Freitas to his knees with a liver kick. Silva immediately pounces and grabs a guillotine, wrestles De Freitas to the mat and get the tap. Silva moves on to face the winner of the next fight in the welterweight tournament final.
Erick Silva def. Gil de Freitas via submission (guillotine choke) R3, 0:57

Undercard results...
Paulao Henrique armbarred Handerson Tarta (R2, 1:54) in a total mismatch of 18-4 vs. 2-0.
Neilson Gomes won a snoozer unanimous decision over Silmar “Sombra” Nunes with takedowns and botched sub attempts.
He’s got such ill takedowns, but his problem is that he can never do anything from there, just weak ground-and-pound.

Well, as it turns out, the biggest news from this show was Yuri Alcantara signing with the UFC.
Pretty good little show nonetheless. Thanks for hanging out, gents.
I’ve been hailing Erick Silva since 09. It’s the only prospect I’ve ever been excited for that wasn’t already really well known.
I expected him to be called up this year but it looks like I’ll have to wait until 11.
