Sengoku Wants Shinya Aoki Punished for His Antics at Dynamite!! 2009
Akimitsu Kuwabara at MMA Mania reports that World Victory Road, the parent company of the Sengoku Raiden Championship wants consequences for DREAM champ Shinya Aoki:
WVR director, Sumio Inamura condemned Aoki's flipping of the bird at the severely injured (Mizuto) Hirota as an "erratic, unforgivable conduct" and fumed that there is not an ounce of sincerity or contrition in his apology. Inamura also demanded accountability from "those who are suspected to have incited Aoki to behave the way he did."
The official statement from WVR notes that WVR acknowledges Aoki as the top Japanese lightweight and has no contention regarding how the fight unfolded from beginning to end. Nonetheless, it claims that Aoki's post-fight behavior ruined the plum opportunity to elevate the status of mixed martial arts with broadcast on network TV during the prime TV slot of the year.
Nightmare of Battle has an update on Hirota'scondition:
...Hirota had an operation yesterday (on the 6th). The doctor who performed the operation is the same one that treated Jerome Le Banner’s arm before and it seems like the operation was a success. Hirota will be hospitalized until the 17th. After the he will rehab for 1-2 weeks, in February he should be able to do some light jogging, and from May onwards he should be able to do some light sparring. Expect his return fight to be this summer or after.
Hirota wasn’t in the best of conditions going into the Aoki fight and according to Ida he was vomiting and had diarrhea the night before the fight. He met Hirota at the hospital and Hirota said that, if possible, he would like to fight Aoki one more time. He didn’t say anything about Aoki’s actions after the fight.

Sengoku being sore losers and making excuses
Priceless.
They don’t want to admit the superiority of DREAM LWs and the fact that Aoki toyed with their champion.

Sometimes...
…you just have to read a little further past the headline.
The shame Aoki has caused his clan will mean seppuku.
Seriously though, this is gonna kill Aoki’s career, just like it did Tito Ortiz’s when he disrespected the Lion’s Den.
Is it bad that I like him more after this?

Flipping someone off vs. someone breaking you arm… he consented to having his arm broken and being layed up for 5 months, are we really worried about his feelings over this?
he could have tapped verbally

don’t be logical about the sitution :P

I don’t really see anything happening here. while no one wrote them a formal letter asking them to do anything about Sokoudjou had to be dragged off of Sapp Nortje, and that’s worse than a middle finger.
i agree…. i don’t think he should be punished, that’s ridiculous BUT the japanese hold themselves to a different standard and i think they find it much more offensive that one of their own did this.

Watch nothing will happen
I doubt any major recourse will come of this for Aoki. The Animosity built up by this match will provide Dream with an even larger interest next time Aoki fights sengoku equaling mooooooree$$$$$$$. And Japan loooooves their freaks and stoylines.
fuck you dolphin!

Also, as for Aoki, he’s kind of the front runner. He’ll act all badass when he wins but acts like a bitch when he loses by crying. I dunno…either you’d a tough dude or you’re not but Sakurai didn’t do that after he kneed the shit outta Aoki’s face.
And I’m not fighter bashing, I’m merely saying that either you’re a tough guy or you’re not but like the Sotiropoulos fight, he get’s kicked maybe in the nuts (bad angle, couldn’t tell) and then lays on the ground writhing around. Mach knees the hell outta his head and he cries. He breaks someone’s arm and runs around flipping everyone off.
maybe I just see it as he’s tough when he wins and likes to rub it in but you know if the situation was reversed he would have been crying like a baby.
Aoki loves Dream
and he got caught up in the heat of the moment winning it for his Team, and he comes off as a prick lol

if this was the first time he’s acted like that, you could play the he was emotional for winning. but historically he either acts like a bitch or a badass depending on the outcome of the fight.
Historically?
How did he act after beating Alvarez, JZ, Shaolin and Hellboy? He goes nuts after pulling off the tie-breaker and now it’s a pattern. This must be your first Aoki fight, he’s usually acting like a dork or crying, nothing about Aoki’s post-fight reactions says bad ass.
What fight is that?

I'm no longer a fan
…what a jerk. At this point if he fought even Nick Diaz I’d pull for Diaz (God I can’t believe I said that).
There should def be some punishment. Its one thing to play a heel, but breaking the guys arm (hey he should have tapped I know, I know) and then doing that to a defenseless fighter is dishonorable, disrespectful, and distasteful.
Yeah, he’s NOT a badass. He could beat me up but I’m not a professional fighter. What comes around goes around, Ajokie. Someone will get him at some point and laugh over him while he cries like a bitch like he does half of the time. A badass is a firefighter, cop, or soldier who goes into the fire/firefight/battle knowing he could lose his life. A badass is someone who stands up for the weak. This was the act of a coward, in my view. The guy had a broken arm. It doesn’t take a badass to stand over someone who can’t even get up and disrespect him. Yep, in my opinion, Ajoki, you a dishonorable coward.
Why Fine KING MO For spilled pop
And not Aoki for flipping the bird to a guy that he probably tried to end his career. Dont know if some will understand this. BUT you can break an arm gently and you can break an arm trying to tear everything right off. He clearly broke it the worst way and than flipped him off. Isnt Japan all about respect and honor? I bet Lyoto and his family all baby love number 3d themselves.

sorry dont know how to jif
that’s actually a pretty easy question to answer. stuff spilled on the mat effects the mats for the rest of the night, i doubt jacare knew he had to prepare for energy drink spilled on the fighting surface. aoki’s bird flip had no actual physical consequences to anyone. and certainly shouldn’t have effected any of the other fights that night.
and as for aoki trying to end the guys career, if you don’t tap, you get something broken. no on disputes that, and i don’t hear anyone from inamura’s camp or from sengoku complaining about that.
