Rumor of the Day - Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley in the works:
Any word on when Kos is returning and who he is expected to fight?
Jon Anik: "Reports are it could be Paul Daley in May or June. Trying to confirm."

I think that Dana would love to have one of these guys in for a title, even though it might be a little bit early for Daley
Not that early though, he was ranked 10 before beating Hazelett, so he’ll go up.
He also has that rare quality for a WW that GSP hasn’t beaten him yet.
Yeah, I suppose beating Kos and Kampmann and Hazlett all in a row is pretty damned impressive. It just seems like he barely hit the scene. I’d love to see him fight Alves, now that’d be a fight, though I like Alves to dominate Daley.
He has those 3, plus he was already ranked pretty highly to begin with. If he beats Kos, Alves is a trouble fight because you could lose a fight for GSP.
Maybe Alves instead of Kos, but I don’t think both are necessary.
I asked about this bout today and was told “it’s a possibility”. Which means it’s being worked on.

This is a deff #1 contender fight.
Kos just choked out Anthony Johnson and Paul Daley is hot right now.
ppl seem to forget daley doesnt do well against wrestlers
this is a real bad matchup for him unless hes drastically increased his wrestling defense
Who’s forgetting that? I think Kos is the clear favorite here, probably -200.

I'm not hot on Daley, however...
if this fight happens and if he beats Kos, it will be hard to deny his improvement and ability.
sounds like a barn burner
kos will probably get ko’d trying to bang with daley
just 'cause you pour syrup on shit, don't make it pancakes
Did you not see the Anthony Johnson fight from 106?
Daley is very similar to Johnson and I’m not talking about looks.
I don’t think they’re that similar, Johnson is a better wrestler and much bigger.

Dear Mr. Daley,
Please knock Mr. Josh Koscheck the fuck out.
Sincerely,
Logan Stanton, Natasha Wicks and Anthony Johnson

I thing that might be your best work for stand off pics, Nick
Kimbo wants to take your caterpiller and do bad things to it.
I’d buy that Photoshopped graphic…even Dana’s right arm almost lines up perfectly, nice work!
If Koscheck tries to be Big Balls McGee and stand in front of this guy, he’s dead meat. Is he that stupid? Doubt it.
This fight is a win/win for us fans though. If Koscheck wins and Daley loses, Kos gets to get the snot kicked out of him by Thiago Alves while UFC puts Daley/Rumbe together.
If Daley wins, we’ll all get to see Josh Koscheck unconscious on the mat.

Awesome.
I hope this fight happens. This is the real challenge to Daley we’ve been looking for. It’ll be interesting to see just how far his takedown defence and ground game have come along since the Shields fight. I figure Kos will be smart like he was against Rumble and take this down quickly.
I love me some Sexyama!
Am I the only person here that likes Kos?
The dude is a warrior who would fight on a days notice if they asked him. I just dont understand all the Kos hate I am always hearing.
He seems like a terrible human being
I know that shit shouldn’t count since it should be all about the fighting, but alas.

I'm a Kos fan
He has more than proven himself.
Used to not be a fan but ever since he beat Johnson I haven’t heard one stupid comment about how AJ would beat GSP so I like him now.

Paul Daley: #1 fighter I need to see knocked out.
Too soon for him to be talking and walking around with all his swagger.

What's your definition of not too soon? Age? Number of fights?
Don’t really care for the dude myself, but he’s had 33 fights, is only 26 and finishes a lot of them. He is also apparently a European and world muay Thai champion.
He’s not MT champion, Europe nor World…

It's been written on various sites if you google it
And on UFC’s own bio page (Though that’s prone to hyperbole I bet)
Not much more specific than that but apparently he is somehow.
Maybe amateur, cause there’s no info on him…

I don’t know if Shields just has bad power, but he quite literally laughed in his face when Shields was landing clean elbows from top position. I couldn’t believe it. Powerful or not, I think the kid is probably tough and it’s a really good chance that Kos controls this for 3 rounds for unanimous decision, unless Daly can keep it standing, in which case he can very easily get the KO.
I really think this would be an excellent #1 contender match. Here’s why.
Koscheck has been falling just short of a title shot despite his continual top 10 status for a while now. This is mostly because of what could be described as brain farts (striking when he should grapple, taking an opponent lightly). His chin isn’t invincible. Not saying he’s chinny or that it’s completely soft, but that he can’t count on his chin to save him against any opponent. Against someone with power like Semtex, he cannot afford to brain fart. Getting through Semtex means he not only has all the tools, but has corrected the mental mistakes. He would deserve to challenge for the title in my eyes.
Daley has proven he can put people to sleep. He has a TKO over a former top 10 welterweight, and a KO over a top UFC gatekeeper. We saw how he did against a top grappler in Jake Shields though. If he can stuff Koscheck takedowns, it shows marked improvement over in that aspect of his game. Also, Kos is a top 5 WW right now. If he can get wins over a top 10, a top 5, and in a fashion that shows he’s plugged his biggest weakness, he deserves a title shot.
My motto,
As I live and learn,
is:
Dig and Be Dug
In Return.

Alves, please.
Daley vs. Alves.
Kos is going to win this. I want to see Alves fight Daley in a stand-up battle.
