Vadim Finkelchtein: There Are No Talks With the UFC Whatsoever
Vadim Finkelchtein crushes any rumors of ongoing talks between M-1 and the UFC via the M-1 website:
Today I heard the rumors of me allegedly stating on my twitter account that we are negotiating with the UFC. I want to state that there are no talks with the UFC whatsoever. Our partner in the USA is STRIKEFORCE, we are happy to cooperate with STRIKEFORCE. Fedor (Emelianenko) and Gegard (Mousasi) fight there and they are quite happy with the conditions and how they are treated with respect there. Finally, I don’t have any account on Twitter. The account that ignited the rumors is false. Our attorneys are already aware of the situation and shortly this fake account will be deleted.
The story was always highly unlikely based on Fedor and Mousasi both being under exclusive U.S. contracts which could have resulted in tampering charges being filed against the UFC. I assume that knowing that later this year Fedor will be able to negotiate a new deal has led to the increase of positive talk by Dana White, but for now we have been told that there are no current talks underway.

Isn’t it possible part of the M1 contract with Strikeforce is that they couldn’t negotiate with the UFC?
Then when Dana opens his mouth Finky needs to deny the conversations…
I mean I can’t say this is what happened, but really no one can be believed here.
Seems strange...
that Dana would mention something about Fedor and M1 now, without some development or loophole that they have found. Why is it Dana the one that is full of crap? How do you know it isn’t Finky? No smoke without fire most of the time.

Fixed that for ya
Dana is full of crap,unbelievable.

@deowade
Fedor and Mousasi both being under exclusive U.S. contracts
So could the UFC still negotiate with them to get them on cards in Montreal, Abu Dhabi or the Aussie card? Hypothetically speaking of course.
Quite interesting
Of course the UFC doesn’t really want its guys fighting in other promotions.
No of course they don’t. I’m just curious as to what exactly they mean by “exclusive US contracts”. Like could I call them up and say “Hey I’m running a fight card in my basement and I would love for Fedor to come fight, but don’t worry, it’s in Canada, so no need to bother Strikforce with the details” or would I get slapped with tampering charges!
Based on SF agreements with other fighters, for example Overeem,...
I would say that there is quite possibly a loophole about events that occur overseas.
No...
they couldn’t. I spoke to a lawyer about this who said that unless they have the worst contracts in the world the fact that the UFC is an American company and their contracts would be WITH the UFC should prevent this.

One thing about The Finklechtein...
Dude knows how to crush a man’s dreams. And has some pretty sweet hair.
Don’t think he’s full of crap…I haven’t seen any interview where he actually said he was in talks…Ariel asked him he heard he said that and Dana’s answered as if what he asked was correct but he didn’t actually say yeah I am talking. His response was roughly that there is more then one way to cut a deal and that he wants Fedor more than everyone that keeps telling him to get Fedor. He went on to say he like Moussasi. He’s allowed to say that he wants other fighters. He stated that he had an open invitation to Nate Diaz, Robbie Lawler, and Jake Shields

The part that intrigues me is when he said there is more than one way to cut a deal. The only conclusion I have been able to come to that makes any sense is that he was looking to buy M-1. What do you guys think he meant by it?

but if he buys M1, how would that impact the current contract M1 has with SF? Wouldn’t the old contract still be valid and therefore Fedor and Gegard would still need to finish their contract?

No idea
I don’t know, and don’t have any knowledge of the M-1/Strikeforce contract. That is just the only thing I can think of when he says there are many ways to cut a deal and why I asked if anyone else had a different idea. And by the way, like your quote.

Thanks
I was going to post exactly what you said.
Everyone should just listen/watch the interview before you say that Dana is full of crap.
He just said that the possibility of having Fedor in the UFC is not closed. He never said a word of them being in talks.
These open contracts seem loopholed to fuck, look at the Overeem situation. K1 has him held down more to a contract then Strikeforce has and he isn’t even champion in K1. If StrikeForce are gonna do these open contracts at least hire some decent lawyers to get the loopholes tightened up.

yeah, no kidding…Isn’t that kinda why Soku didn’t fight him for the title? He said he wasn’t going to defend it for the pittance he is getting paid. Coker gave the excuse that Soku wasn’t ranked high enough for it to count as a title fight…Pretty sad excuse, why have him fight at all if his opponent isn’t worthy to fight for the belt.
Here's what Dana actually said...

At the end of the video. It’s not like he said they had been negotiating.

Man, do you guys remember that time that Vadim said something honest and relevant?
Yeah, me either.
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.

Mousasi will end up in the UFC
It’s going to happen. He’d be a moron to do the negotiations before the public knows him from the CBS cards, but once he’s a name, he’ll go to the UFC.
m more inclinded to believe what Dana White says
questionable ethics he may have, then a word out of VADIM f’n FINKELCHTEIN’s mouth.
Hmm, so Dana said something that was an outright lie, and dozens of MMA sites ran it anyway with no attempt to check his facts? Ok then. Good to know.
I've never known Finkelstein to lie.
I have known Dana to lie but not Finkelstein. Dana is just stirring to pot again and all you guys have taken the bait like idiots yet again. He knows whatever he says will be posted all over the internet. He’d rather this get posted than, “UFC 108 did horrible numbers”. Don’t you get it ? Fedor is not coming to the UFC, ever. I really highly doubt it. Do you think Fedor and his coaches don’t realize that UFC is fixing fights? I’m quite sure they know that they are fixing fights. I don’t think Fedor wants to be involved in that.
If your gonna throw around wild accusations like that back it up, brother. What evidence do you have of fixing fights? I’m probs being trolled hard anyway

I reckon this guy will be banned in short order.

LMAO at people who think Mousasi will end up in UFC
Mousasi might very well end up in UFC but it won’t be on PPV. Look how much has changed in 5 years. Do you really think UFC will still be on PPV in 5 years? LMAO. If UFC is going to make it, they will have to abandon the PPV model. My guess is that if it comes to that, Dana and friends will just sell the UFC. You heard it here first. Computer processors are doubling in speed. In 5 yrs, the average internet user will able to download a movie in 5 minutes. The UFC is fighting the entire internet and they will lose just like the RIAA lost. Dana knows that. He’s trying to buy some time with these threats. I’d be surprised if UFC is still on PPV come 2012.
You are my new favorite poster!
Err commenter, sorry Luke ^^;
The words coming from your computer are hilarious in their craziness =D
Guillotine.
I know!
Doubling my processor speed would make my internet connection alot faster.

Multi-threaded downloading
Where instead of trying to get one stream from a DL source you set-up several and dynamically allocate & de-allocate resources to them. Sort of like bittorrent.
