Seth Petruzelli vs Ken Shamrock in Mexico

via sherdog.com

Seth Petruzelli (11-4), best known for knocking out Kimbo Slice back in 2008, has been hinting about a 'huge' contract for a fight he has scheduled. Today, he finally announced it on his twitter:

Just got HUGE fight contract, will announce soon!! ...Im goin to announce my big fight tomorrow!! Headed to lift right now...

...

ok my next big fight, me vs. ken shamrock live on PPV from cancun mexico for the WFO belt! International Unlimited Fighting is the fight org... this will be a 5 rounder for the belt! ALL satellite and most ALL cable companys will get this fight live on PPV.

Based on what he said a few months ago, I assumed he was going to make a return to the UFC. It looks like plans have changed cause he's now going to take on the "World's Most Dangerous Man", who is still serving his one year suspension for testing positive for steroids.

I’m sure there will be a stream. Think WarGodz:Shamrock vs. Grizzly. We’ll watch for the freakshow value.

If Ken Shamrock dies fighting …

… that’s something we all, as fans of the sport, are going to have to live with. I wish to fuck there were a job he could hold that would make it possible for guys like him and Frye and Severn to still make a living but not fight. Say what you want about the IFL, at least it provided that for a while.

Couldn’t these guys open gyms and give training sessions and crap? Surely they have enough name value and experience to do pretty well training people, or at least looking muscular while other people train them.

At least Severn...

takes little to no damage in his fights. Shamrock is really taking a lot of abuse. I think he as well as a guy like Goodridge will be interesting cases to look at for longterm health studies.

Does this being in Mexico have anything to do with Shammy’s suspension, or not being able to get licensed in the states?

Tank Abbott
James Thompson
Seth Petruzelli
Houston Alexander
Ken Shamrock
