Sengoku, Bellator and EliteXC veteran Dave Herman (16-1), better known to most MMA fans as "Pee Wee," is the latest addition to the rapidly expanding Shine Fights roster.

The organization announced the signing late Monday night via Twitter.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from sources close to the promotion that near-12-year veteran Jeff Monson (32-9) is likely to welcome Herman to the organization.

Monson signed a deal with the upstart Shine Fights promotion this past December.

Herman comes to the Shine Fights promotion on a three-fight win streak – a run that includes first-round stoppage wins over Jim York, Don Frye and Josh Barnes. The current run comes after the lone loss of Herman's career, which came in a January 2009 bout with Mu Bae Choi under the Sengoku banner.

A former Indiana State wrestler, Herman has earned all 16 of his career wins via stoppage and has fought beyond the first round just two times.

A seven-time UFC veteran, Monson has also fought for PRIDE, DREAM and Sengoku, among others, in his 40-plus-fight career. The grappling ace and American Top Team product owns 20 of his 31 career wins by submission.

Monson's career record is loaded with notable opponents such as Marcio Cruz, Kazuyuki Fujita, Forrest Griffin, Mark Kerr, Sergei Kharitonov, Roy Nelson, Pedro Rizzo and Tim Sylvia. After opening his career with a very pedestrian 6-5 record, Monson has since gone 26-4, including a current streak of eight wins in his past nine outings.

Herman and Monson are believed to be in line for a meeting at Shine Fights' as-yet-unannounced third event, which is believed to be tentatively scheduled for April, though promotion executives were not immediately available for comment when contacted by MMAjunkie.com. Shine Fights III is expected to a feature a main event between former pro boxing champion Ricardo Mayorga and American Top Team vet Din Thomas.

Shine fights now boasts a roster of Din Thomas, Junior Assuncau, Luciano Azevedo, Ricardo Mayorga, Danillo Villefort, Derek Noble, Nick Thompson, Roan Carniero, Alexander Shlemenko, Giva Santana, Ninja Rua, Jamal Patterson, Jeff Monson, just to name the most known fighters.  This is starting to look like a promotion to keep an eye on, as long as they are able to pay all the fighters.
