UFC 108 Results: Cole Miller Submits Dan Lauzon

Photo by Dave Mandel via Sherdog

Two of the UFC's promising young lightweights battled in the first bout of the Spike TV portion of UFC 108's preliminary card.  Cole Miller and Dan Lauzon both came out swinging early with heavy hands and kicks.

Miller connected early with a stiff left hook and knee, but Lauzon answered right back with a right hand that floored Miller.  As Lauzon jumped in for the finish, Miller grabbed an omaplata and used the scramble to re-gain his senses.  The two were more tentative after the initial exchange

It appeared that Lauzon was on his way to getting a dominant position as he took Miller's back in a scramble, but Miller displayed his always-deadly ground game by deftly reversing Lauzon and locking up an inverted triangle choke.  From there Miller also secured an arm, and as he began to crank the kimura, Lauzon tapped from the choke.  A rare combo triangle/kimura notches Miller his fifth UFC victory.
