Hell yeah Kris McCray, dude absolutely WRECKED his opponent at the last UWC event I was at. Terrific prospect and also he’s from VA, the DMV needs more light on it’s fighters and gyms, we have great ones!

UWC

F the UWC, they black balled our gym from the event. In the next UWC Kris was supposed to fight for the Middleweight Title which is currently open. Because Kris turned it down to come over to TUF, the UWC owners/promoters refuse to let any of our other fighters on any of their fight cards. Master Lloyd Irvin (Brandon Vera and Mike Easton’s trainer) even got involved in it to try and help change their minds, but it was still a no go, so….

what's in a nickname?????

How do you know that those “nicknames” don’t fit those fighters? I can tell you from personal experience, “Savage” fits Kris. I’ve trained with him for the last 2 yrs at Gold Medal Grappling and he WILL go places. He is undefeated as an am. and as a pro fighter (9-0-0 am/5-0-0 pro). Not one of his pro fights has made it past the first round and only 2 or 3 am. fights went past the first round. Kris’s last fight in Baltimore lasted all of 29 seconds ending with a shoulder lock. His fight before that was a 39 second victory over undefeated Igor Almieda 6-0-0 (none of his fights went past the first round, and they still haven’t, lol) via KO. Watch out for Kris on the show, just sayin……

kinda makes losing dan henderson because of tito getting a big contract pretty stupid on zuffas part huh?

tito is not a draw anymore even matched up with chuck which previously was their biggest card no one will care… i still would like to see chuck fight franklin and griffen but tito?

make tito fight rampage or better yet feed tito to jon jones eh who am i kidding i love to see this guy get beat up!

by p123 on Jan 19, 2010 1:23 PM EST reply actions

Ortiz might not be a PPV draw right now, this is true. The UFC can rebuild him if he wins.

Still, he was worth a lot to Strikeforce. imagine being able to have Ortiz on free TV like CBS? Yikes!! That would be a huge ratings success.

So his big payday is just as much attributed to his potential value to Strikeforce’s as it is to his value to the UFC. Henderson doesn’t have much value

I wonder if Chuck will draft both of the Chuck’s and have an all-Chuck team?

These four have pretty good records, and I hope they get more fighters like this who actually come off as prospects than getting a seasoned veteran like Roy Nelson, who just came off like a ringer. Granted, the UFC did get Jason Dent who is also a veteran, and he did not win, but I always felt that this show was best for prospects. Bader, Escudero, Sotiropolous, Pearson, , Saunders, Winner, Riddle, Dollaway and a couple other fighters from TUF are either up-and-comers or prospects with bright futures.

by chrisbboy82 on Jan 19, 2010 1:38 PM EST reply actions

I hope this makes up for the last season.

Good Prospects, Chuck Liddell’s Punchdrunkedness, and Tito’s Business Tutorials should make for good TV.

No bad, looks like some big guys and shit. Def getting some guys from good gyms, I see ATT, some unbeaten prospects, that one guy beat Jim Wallhead, isnt he the WW Bellator just signed?

So hopefully they have a full cast of some top MW prospects.

Question is, will it be just 16 guys in the house, or will it be 32 fighters and you have to fight to get in the house?

I think this is gonna be a good season, these guys look to be good fighters and in shape, it wont be the sloppy HW season, I think this will be a really solid season with some good solid prospects.

I'm over the guys fighting their way in

There isn’t enough talent for that, and it’s always a dreadful two weeks of shows.

personally I hope they do have to fight their way in again.

by brooksto on Jan 19, 2010 7:12 PM EST up reply actions

Those two shows are the best TUF episodes of the season.

All fights, maybe enough time for Dana/Chuck/Tito to make quips about the performances and a solid 40 minutes of fights.

Keep firing Assholes!

Mind numbing, tedious and ultimately self defeating.

by Ubernoober on Jan 19, 2010 7:49 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah right

They’re mostly awful, sloppy fights between guys that came in out of shape, have a lot to learn, and/or a reasonable number of guys that are never going to make it. Totally awesome..

yeah right???

I know for a fact Kris won’t be out of shape. He’s been down in NM the last few weeks in prep fro this. Training with Greg Jackson’s camp and the Tap Out crew. Hell, during one of the mat work sestions of the tryouts, Kris tapped his guy 5 times in the minute they were given. He is never really out of shape. I can’t speak for the others, but he will give you a show!!

Can Anyone Confirm Mario Miranda?

I’ve seen conflicting reports, I’ve seen two sites saying he is def in, though I saw on Sherdog someone is saying that it is confirmed he was cut.

now I know, shit, actually I think it was this site that I read about prospects to watch for and he was one of them, thats how I know the name. He is apart of Blackhouse I believe, he is 11-0, unbeaten, I know he fights at LHW, but I believe he can make MW.

So Bloodyelbow, can you confirm that Miranda has made the cut? Or was he let go?

Look, I got real excited hoping he is on this season, but if for some reason he isnt, and they look at him as a LHW not a MW, thats fine, but tell me they signed him to a contract then.

TUF fucked up by letting Tyron Woodley get away, this is a highly touted prospect that is apart of the Blackhouse family, who is unbeaten in 11 fights, how the hell could the UFC not give this kid a shot? Even if not on TUF, they should have this kid locked in a contract yesterday, I mean what are they doing?

I really hope he is on TUF 11.

I ask cause like I said, I’ve seen two sites as of a few days ago saying he was confirmed, and now on Sherdog they said he was cut.

Man I really hope the UFC isnt that dumb to cut this kid, or hopefully they gave him a contract then.

WHats the deal with Mario Miranda?
