No, it isn't.
Think about it. Kimbo couldn’t even KO James Thompson and Meathead showed a great chin against Junk. Flush haymakers didn’t even make him blink.
Kimbo is taking a nap in this fight.

VERY bad for Kimbo. “Meathead” has a pretty stout chin.

Who would you suggest his next fight be, then? In my mind, this is the best option for him AND for matchmaking Meathead.

Agreed. I don’t think you could do much with either fighter right now, and with Kimbo, you’re gonna be scraping the bottom of the UFC barrel for a few fights anyway.

I’d save him for one of those UK cards, and match him against one of those big British Brawlers with limited ground skills.

Yep, it’s an actual test for him instead of just feeding him someone for the sake of getting a win. If a fighter can’t win the hard fights then they don’t have any business in the UFC anyway. I mean what’s the point of feeding Kimbo cans now? Lets see if he actually has a shot at being anything besides a side show in MMA.

Oh man, Kimbo’s gonna get KTFO. Then Meathead will fight Gonzaga and get f*cked up.

Both of these fighers are miles from Gonzaga.

PPV or SpikeTV Prelims?

This card is stackeeeeed with guys who can sell a PPV.
Im suprised the UFC isnt making Rampage Rashad as its own pay per view … as well as putting Kimbo on one of the weaker pay-per-view where he can boost sales.
This one will do huge sales regardless.

dont be surprised if Evans/Jackson is moved to May 29 in Vegas.

Let’s hope so. Like I was saying in the other thread, that fight could use its own UFC Primetime show.

It did have a show, not a UFC Primetime Show. But still, it had one

I’ll be rooting for Kimbo. I want to see him get revenge on Meathead for knocking Big Baby out…
I’ll also be curious to know how much ATT has helped Kimbo out…I know Im in the minority (no pun intended) but I’d REALLY like to see Kimbo have a successful career

Well, I’m hoping that Kimbo keeps winning just so we can get Kimbo vs. the Tito/Chuck winner.

Did Kimbo continue training at ATT after his last fight?

Win or Lose
After this fight Kimbo could still fight Tony and his “side check kicks”

so I guess I won't be seeing Kimbo vs Gracie anytime soon...
on a slightly unrelated note: This could be interesting to see how much more PPV buys this card would get with Kimbo on the card..
If the casuals needed more reason to purchase a PPV with a light heavyweight championship rematch and two TUF coaches in it, then I guess Kimbo puts the icing on the cake for this one.

HONESTLY
i don’t really care for either fighter.. it’z like watching a couple of mini-vanz drag race…. i suppose if Mitrione haz decent head movement he should be alright….

Mitrione actually looked pretty decent against Jones, and I believe that Mitrione also trains with Chris Lytle and his camp. Similarly, Kimbo actually improved and showed it against Alexander, and Kimbo trains in ATT. I have to go with Mitrione in this one because he does hit hard and can take punches. Kimbo may be wise to try and take this to the ground (even though he is limitied in the ground game and besides that huge slam, seems limited in taking fighters down).
Does anyone feel that 30-year-old Matt Mitrione is a Heavyweight prospect?
by chrisbboy82 on Jan 17, 2010 2:59 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
No
And I also don’t think he can beat Kimbo. His striking is broken and he doesn’t seem to have the drive to succeed. He’s with a good camp, though, and it showed against Big Baby. I suspect it’ll be a competitive fight, but I fully expect Kimbo to outstrike him.

I just put the question out there for fun, and I do not feel that Mitrione is a Heavyweight prospect. I like this fight, and it looks like MMA fans are split as far as who is going to win.

Kimbo takes this.
And the oddsmakers will say so. He’s stronger, faster, and moves better than Mitrione.

This is a slap in the face to Kimbo. After his win over Houston, Kimbo deserves a bigger name opponent.

If they want Kimbo to not get murdered he needs feeder fish 1st. Meat head =

I think this is a competitive fight for Kimbo, especially if he gets it to th ground. Meathead has KO power and a good chin, but I think Kimbo is equal or better in the clinch or on the ground. Did I just write that?! faints
