The Red Cross has asked people to text "Haiti" to 90999 to donate $10 to its earthquake relief fund.
You can send donations larger than $10 by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

I know times are tight here in the USA, but the folks in Haiti are experiencing a world of hurt that most of us can’t even imagine. Please donate!

Even the NHL donated $100,000 to UNICEF, I wonder if any other sports leagues will match/increase this bid.
Nothing inspires me about humanity more than the equal reaction to a natural disaster and seeing people come together to try to alleviate the hardships of those who are suffering.
you guys do know that a bulk of the money you are donating does not go towards relief efforts right?

I think the Red Cross learned their lesson after 9/11 after people called them out when their money wasn’t used specifically for 9/11 purposes. At least I hope so.

yeah as fucked up as it sounds, i’m sure plenty of people are gonna get rich off this tragedy. it’d be nice if there was a way to know for sure that a bulk of the money is going where it needs to be
