I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m getting pretty tired of fighters/fans/pundits poo-pooing on the ground aspects of MMA, dismissing their losses with the heavily-overused “I thought we’re gonna give the fans what they want and stand and bang”. If that’s all they want to do, box. Or kickbox. Do point karate or a Toughman contest.
I’d rather see good jits than two dudes winging horribly un-technical punches with all their might (AKA the Windmill Technique).
Sorry, I’ll step off the soapbox now. Just had to vent.
If he's still in the UFC after this.
Feed him to Wandy. Want to stand and bang? Try it with the Axe Murderer.

Jay Silva is like that recently released “Professor X”—a one-dimensional striker. Maybe it’s because the UFC wants “exciting” fights, but I can’t believe that some fighters still think that they will get somewhere in the UFC by being a one-dimensional striker (there has had one- dimensional grapplers and wrestlers that have made it pretty far in the UFC though, but not strikers). Even Wanderlei has shown that he can get up off his back, and to my knowledge, has not been submitted or lost to GnP (I could be wrong here though).
