WEC's General Manager Reed Harris talks about his guest of honor, Iraq War vet Dominique Haynes at WEC 46:
"Guys-
He's a soldier I met when we did the show in San Antonio at the Brooks Military Hospital.
He was burned in Iraq when an IED blew up his vehicle. I flew him out to Sac. as he was Ben Hendersons biggest fan. Trying to do something nice.
Thanks
Reed"

damn
that sucks to have a face burned, I had a child friend that had 3/4 of his face burned, hope he can get some plastic surgery if it’ll help.

Two things. 1. Rec’d for being military…I have nothing but respect for you. 2. Zuffa has a history of taking care of/treating vets with respect. I like that they do this.

I was wondering who that was. Props to Reed and to our troops fighting the good fight.

I think we should appreciate Coker’s policy of letting his fighters also remain in the service.

Wow.
Thats a classy move.
Weird because I watched The Hurt Locker right before the fights. Good flick.
Hurt Locker FTW
I love how that and Avatar are seen as the Oscar frontrunners, and James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow (the directors) are divorced

Yea, but who hasn’t left Cameron at this point. He has reached true genious standing in that no one can stand being around him.

I saw that last night. Actually, I thought it was Mark Laimon at first. It’s good to see these fight promotions take notice of the efforts of our veteran’s. I really hope when the UFC and WEC decide to come to Canada that they keep our servicemen up here in mind. It seems every time I watch the news now, in Canada, more KIA’s are announced. It may be cliche, but I humbly thank any and all American, Canadian and their respective allies, servicemen in action.

always classy to see organizations such as the WEC/UFC and the NFL doing the right thing for the men and women that protect this nation.
Stand up guy Mr. Harris.
Loved the UFC Fight For the Troops card last year
They raised a ton of money for that hospital they are trying to build for the war vets too.
Keep up the good work Zuffa.
Pure class
You could see the guy was excited as hell when Henderson won. I hope WEC gets him to all of Ben’s fights.
