Brandon Vera: "I’m honored to be headlining the first ever UFC on VERSUS... On March 21st, when I fight Jon Jones, we’re gonna find out how hard his "Bones" are."
Jon Jones: "I’m really starting to believe in myself and that I do belong here at the top. I’m working really hard and I know you have to fight the best and beat the best in order to be the best, and that’s what I’ll be doing when I take on Brandon Vera on March 21st."

It's the same story with Vera all the time these days
Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of both Brandon and his wife, Kerry. However, I can’t help but feel that we are going to hear about whether or not Brandon Vera will look like “the old Brandon Vera.” Jones, on the other hand, is just improving by leaps and bounds, and I have to wonder who is going to be the favorite as far as betting lines are concerned for this matchup. I think that Vera can win this despite how much momentum Jones is having, but it will be difficult.
I agree with you that Vera can win this but will need a “career best night” to accomplish the feat …… Brandon hits damn hard and can as we’ve seen in the past end a fight with a knee or kick at any moment ….. on the other hand Bones has some excellent skills and this fight is one I’m looking forward to …. should be a good one.

I think vera brings enough every time into the cage to win this fight. Bones has won but his last fight taught us nothing except that he can land outside foot sweep on a wrestler. the rest was a injury.
vera has much better standup, he has couture nullifying greco, and is fast. He’s The perfect antidote for jones.
Vera will show everyone why bones is a prospect and not a contender.

Surprsied a little that there is not a bigger name on the card
Dont get me wrong I love Jones and Johnson and Clay Guida usually puts on entertaining fights but I thought they would throw somebody like a Kimbo Slice or someone else on this card to really get attention for the UFC on Versus.
the card isn't even half full,
so I wouldn’t complain just yet… But it’s a fight night card, so it certainly won’t be a better card than the normal numbered PPVs..
It will be a lot better than the average fight night card though, since it will be the first one on Versus…and yes Kimbo is rumored to be on the event too.. emphasis on rumored, since we haven’t heard any follow up on it yet..

or other promotional talk… Dana White usually overly hypes up fights on press releases too..

Either Jones manages to get it to the ground with his crazy Greco and can win the fight there should Vera pick him apart in the Muay Thai (unlikely), or he out works Vera on the standup as Vera is more technically proficient but not as explosive (anymore) and lacks the aggressiveness. Jones by reach, explosiveness, tenacity and crazy come from no where throws.
I like Jon Jones more and more
He seems to be really grounded and respectful. We’ll see if that attitude stays when he starts having some big-time success. I hope it does.
I think Bones will win via some crazy ass Bruce Lee move he saw off TV.
