Randy Couture: "Brock Lesnar Is Training, I Think He Will Be Back This Spring"
Randy Couture on Inside MMA:
"I spoke with Brock, I don't think his career is over... I think they've got the issues he's been having under control, and he's back training. I think he will be back in the octagon this spring, and ready to fight again."

I don’t think the training is the problem it’s how he feels afterwards, is he able to put in 4 or 5 weeks of high impact training to get ready to fight in June or July. Or is he going to feel weak and exhausted like before?, that’s the real question and timetable of if or when Brock will be able to fight again in the UFC anytime soon.
This is definitely in direct contrast to what I’ve been told, but I don’t doubt Randy is telling the truth. Good information is hard to come by.

Like Luke, I have been told the opposite. If what Randy says is true, lots of people have some explaining to do. If the UFC is attempting to manipulate the media narrative this blatantly, I hope it will backfire. Of course, that would depend on MMA reporters having some pride.

when you guys say sources close to the situation is it within his inner circle or like some random dude who trains at greg nelson’s?

I don’t know who Luke’s contacts are. I know the people I’m talking to about it would be in a position to know. They are either lying to everyone or Couture is mistaken. There is no gray area.
If Brock returns this summer, this has been a transparent attempt by the UFC to make him a “good guy.”

okay…I understand what you’re saying. I never understood what anonymous sources were. Are they people who actually know something like within the inner circle or just some random?
Thanks for clearing this up.

I find that funny, the “a transparent attempt by the UFC to make him a ‘good guy’”. Somehow, it’s the UFC’s fault that you talk to your “sources” and get incorrect info. In fact, the UFC has said nothing recently except “no comment”. Maybe you shouldn’t take what your sources say as fact and report it as such. At this point no one knows. He’ll either be back or he won’t.
It happens all the time, in sports news and every other kind of news. A reporter talks to some supposed “inner circle” contact with exclusive info that ends up being completely false. It happens when you use anonymous sources. Get used to it, I guess.
Yeah, I found that a little odd, too
I’ve spoken to someone at a local publication that said the same things Snowden and Luke are hearing, and they certainly didn’t obtain that information from Zuffa.

You are missing what I'm saying
I haven’t really reported anything on Brock, as I don’t know what is going on and it seems quite fishy to me.
The media narrative here is being driven by the UFC. Almost every public comment has been from Dana White. He has billed Brock’s illness as everything from life threatening to career ending. If Brock is really preparing for a return already, then this was all about him making a heroic comeback from illness.

Sweet delicious irony:
The lead-in add for the clip was a Coors Light add.

I DISLIKE BROCK
but it’z good to hear that he won’t lose hiz belt due to an illness… i wold rather see him lose it fair and square…….get well brock…
"If I told you I was good, you would think I am boasting. If I told you I was not good, you would know I am lying" Bruce Lee
you just know he won’t be 100% from now on….size, strength, and conditioning…really Brock hasn’t accomplished much in beating an old Couture and Frank Mir so how he rebounds from this will be his legacy. From heel to hero?
i disagree that it’s not much of an accomplishment to come into the ufc in your first year of mma and defeat two former champions, handily.

could they put him on the memorial day show so that the card doesnt suck?
At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.
i wish for a speedy recovery for brock so that he can fight memorial day weekend and i can get tickets to a good show

if they put him on an event south of the equator...
he will technically fight in the fall.

If this is true...
I wonder if they’re still going to go through with the Carwin / Mir interim title fight… hmmm…

So, if he’s training and fighting this spring…what’s the rush in scheduling Mir/Carwin for UFC 111 and making it for a belt? Either Randy’s got bad info or they’re planning to bring back Brock against a scrub.
Scrub = Winner of Nog/Cain?

I must say
Im thinking this as well, that way the ufc can have a mini tourney and have the 2 champs fight and prove whos the real UFC hw champion? Maybe not the exact idea but hey it makes sence.
They’ll probably wheel Brock into the octagon in a wheelchair after the Cain/Nog fight to challenge the winner, then the winner turns his back on Brock and Brock springs up and smashes his wheelchair on Cain/Nog’s back.
