Snapshot of the Day: WAMMA Reading Light Edition

Tacky, but better reading light than you'd think. And although it took forever to get here, I'm delighted to have this scalp. Back story here.

You took a scalp off of someone that was only mostly dead?
Brutal.

I wouldn’t put that thing near anything flammable. Knowing how badly WAMMA failed it might burn your house down.
Most likely it will: Stop working, Blow up, Try to establish a fake belt, or Steal from your wallet.

What’s a fake belt? There is no difference between a WAMMA belt and any other. They’re all arbitrary.
In concept I don’t see how any fan can be against WAMMA
Are you kidding me? Are you new to BE? The fake belt thing you are correct about…but their rankings are garbage…
Man…

I really don’t care much for their rankings or anyone’s for that matter anymore, but I don’t get why people are opposed to the concept of WAMMA. It’s what the sport needs. One champ throughout all of MMA not just each promotion. People complain about boxing but the equivalents of WBC, WBO,WBA and IBF is having champs in the UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, DEEP, Shooto, Sengoku etc.
Uniformity and balance in MMA is a good thing. There is still a damn gap between choosing between a ring and cage.
Because the concept of WAMMA is bullshit.
You can’t have 1 champ across all MMA if you refuse to acknowledge most of the best fighters in MMA, like WAMMA does.
I take that back a little.
The concept is ok, but their execution is terrible, that is where the problem is. I don’t give credit for concepts if you go out and do things that don’t match that concept.
Well they can’t give UFC fighters the belts if they won’t be recognized. How is that their fault?
It isn’t like they don’t have GSP, Anderson or Machida ranked #1 in their respective divisions.
Also, when has anyone recognized Aoki?
That whole argument goes out the window with Aoki. Does he even have a belt?
Aoki has beaten more top10 opponents and fights more often than BJ at Lw. BJ went 15 months without fighting at LW. That would be grounds for removal of ranking. Many have been arguing that for awhile now.
I’m not arguing who should be ranked higher (although, BJ was ranked higher before Aoki’s "championship match) but that’s besides the point.
If GSP can’t be champion because Dana won’t let some guy who needs a haircut hold the belt upside down inside the octagon. Aoki shouldn’t be the champ, because there was no guy who needs a haircut holding the belt upside down inside the ring that night. He also didn’t bring it to the ring and it wasn’t mentioned when he fought at LW at Dream 10.
Well they can’t give UFC fighters the belts if they won’t be recognized. How is that their fault?
What?

LOL. Exactly...
If WAMMA didn’t need FEG’s recognition to “sanction” the Aoki/Alvarez fight as a LW title match, I don’t see why they need the UFC’s recognition to “sanction” title fights involving GSP, Anderson, and Lyoto.
You obviously don’t understand what they are all about.

Awesome.

I want it. We can fight to the death. If I win I get the WAMMA light. If you win you get my YAMMA t-shirt. Game on.
Are you aware that Luke is a 240lb former Marine? Just make sure you don’t wear the YAMMA shirt during the fight, wouldn’t want to get it bloody.

Bring it on. I fear no man. And I want me some WAMMA merch.
But obviously I am kidding. Not a smart move to tangle with someone who’s basic job was killing. I have a friend that just got out of the Marines and he often talks about how he misses killing. Mostly when he is stuck in traffic.
I could be wrong – and I SERIOUSLY mean no offense – but I thought Luke was more of a behind the front lines sorta guy. Not that he didn’t get far more combat training than I had in the Air Force, but I don’t think he was Marine Recon or anything.
Then again, where I was stationed I think the plan was that if we ever got attacked, the Marines and Army guys would shoot us Air Force wussies and stack us like cordwood to have a better firing position. We don’t shoot too good, but we’re good and fat for maximum bullet-stopping potential.

If Luke told us his REAL missions, he’d have to kill us.

Never served in combat but was a Forward Observer for a field artillery unit. Spent plenty o’ time in all forms of combat training year after year including the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). Never used most of that training in real life.
But I can put 10 rounds in the black with the M-16 A2 service rifle with no scope at 500 yards. Nothing amazing, but I feel good about it.
Ah, sorry for the confusion. I must have figured that since you lived in the DC area you were more likely an intel weenie like the rest of us.
