If He's Not Fighting Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson at UFC 107, No One's Told Rashad Evans
From Mike Chiappetta:
Rashad Evans has yet to be officially informed that his UFC 107 main-event matchup with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been scrapped, according to his manager, Jervis Cole.
FanHouse contacted Cole on Saturday to find out whether the ex-UFC light-heavyweight champion had been informed of any change in scheduling. As of yesterday afternoon, he had not.
"Haven't heard anything yet," Cole wrote in a text message to FanHouse. "As far as we know the fight is still on. Until the UFC tells us something different, Rashad Evans starts training in mid-October."

Well
I guess they can just put Rampages loss off for awhile while he films The A-Team. Meanwhile, Rashad can keep training so the knockout looks even better when the time comes. : )

Imma just a fan dude.
That is slowly becoming a no-no here. You might respond to his battles with enthusiasm that might turn out to be “wrong” when he loses. :)

Fight still on?
According to the Van Sun report Rampage was in Van for “the next 6 weeks” meaning filming will wrap up exactly 8 weeks prior to Dec 12st. Rampage has complained about over training for his last 2 fights (although remember he under training after a long hiatus before the Forrest fight) so a 7-8 week training camp may be all he thinks he needs. Also consider that while filming I’m sure the producers what Rampage in excellent shape, so getting his cardio and diet down during filming isn’t a rediculous idea.
Dana said he hates the idea, especially when it is the hometown boy for UFC 107 pulling out. I can see Rampage telling Dana, “I can do both.” If I were his manager I wouldn’t like that idea, but its not rediculous. Anyone else think Dana would let Rampage fight despite the distractions, watch him lose a grudge match, then remind other fighters of what happens when you don’t focus on fighting?

Why didn’t they just get Mr.T to play B.A Baracus? … He still looks good, bulkier than Rampage! Then, this whole debacle would have been sorted!

First it was rumored that he was going to be BA, then it was rumored that he was NOT going to be BA, then it’s confirmed that he IS BA, and now this……

While I am not particularly a fan of Rashad Evans
It really is unfair to him and the fans as well. There will have a lot of hype for Rampage vs Evans after TUF 10. Also, Jackson last fought on March and Evans last fought on May. Both of them will have a very long layoff in-between fights. I am sure that this fight will happen down the line, but I personally was hyped for it once it was announced. I wonder if the UFC will find Evans someone to fight in the meantime?

The fight is only being delayed a couple months, if they find a new opponent for Rashad it could be delayed 6 months or more.

Yeah, I heard that it would be possible for them to fight on the Superbowl weekend card or on March. However, with nothing definite yet, who knows when this fight will happen?

Here we go all fucking over again!
Rampage/Sugar is going to turn be the new Serra/ Hughes, a fight that will take forever to make happen and when it does, it will have lost most of its appeal.
for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

Rashaad should fight a contender while he waits for Rampage. Franklin, Vera or Hammil maybe (in that order). While he is a top 10 LHW, I don’t think it would be a bad thing to have him beat another decent contender in the meanwhile. I wanted to see him hook it up with Rampage, but really expected Rampage to kick his ass. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for Evans as two losses in a row puts you in a bad spot. Rampage will be out of training for so long that by the time they do fight, I’d like Evans’ chances much better after a Jackson layoff. I’d still go with Rampage though, barring anymore external distractions.
