Rickson Gracie not sure Vitor Belfort is ready for Anderson Silva:
"There are many physical, psychological and technical obstacles. Once you’re in the Octagon you have a chance. But it gets very difficult to put Vitor in for a title shot after only that fight with Franklin. He had a layoff and it counts against him to dispute the championship right away," the Vale Tudo legend explains.
"The pace of fighting has to be taken in account after some time off. Vitor has to fight more times to feel himself dead prepared to Anderson. It would make more sense, but then again he can think he is ready and its won’t be for me to say he is not, you understand?"

Far be it from me to disagree with Rickson,
but I don’t think Vitor’s layoff will be that big of an issue. If he can still make 185 comfortably, I think he’s a huge threat to Anderson.
Does Dan Henderson’s recent-but not-so recent decision victory over Vitor Belfort factors in at all in Belfort vs. Silva?
Everybody loves to tout Belfort’s heavy hands but I don’t think that’s a skill in as much as Anderson Silva’s chin is a skill. Stylistically can Vitor offer any problems for the middle weight champion? Vitor is definitely great on his feet and showed tremendous patience against Rich Franklin but Anderson Silva is tremendously creative standing up and has shown some great improvements from 2006 to 2009. He was able to stand in front of several different fighters in Cote, Leites and Griffin and emerge WITHOUT any damage.
In the end, I think it is going to take more than just heavy hands to dethrone Anderson Silva.

You’re right :-)
They both have fast hands.
