Michael Rome on Fightlinker Radio
I was on Fightlinker's radio show today. We discussed a whole bunch of topics, including:
--Rampage leaving the UFC
--Mike Swick vs. Dan Hardy
--Rashad Evans' decision to turn down a fight with Randy Couture
--The problems at Strikeforce
--Whether MMA is heading down the wrong path in 2009.

It was actually Civilized.
With that being said I agreed with you wholeheartedly on everything. The UFC needs to have a woman’s division, and a WMMA TUF-like program. The talent pool is still pretty small, but it could explode if they give it the proper backing and spotlight on Spike. TUF made MMA what it is today in the U.S. I think it can do the same for WMMA.
Miguel Torres- "I'm gonna give him a taste of the East Chicago Waterfall."
Rashad Evans- "That sounds disgusting."
I know this isn’t the place for posting something not related to the article content but on the youtube ufc page Akiyama posted that he will be fighting wanderlei silva at ufc 108.
It’s the 9th comment down, by user Yoshihiro Akiyama… Not sure if this is it’s really akiyama’s though…
There's really no point in saying this, but I thought I'd let you know
Rome, your voice is a little higher than I thought it’d be. For some reason I’ve always pictured you all husky and grizzled but this was surprising! And a little endearing for whatever reason.
Yeah, I really don’t have a radio-friendly voice.

lift some weights and start getting laid…
whats your loose prediction on the CBS show? and this weeks tuf?
If Kimbo’s tuf fight on spike beats out his live fight on CBS… what say you? Zuffa’s projecting (optimistically) right around that marker.
Im betting CBS does + or – 20% of the 3rd elite/CBS show… If they can do those numbers without Kimbo or Gina that’s perty darn good.
So far out, too many factors. I really have no idea. Assuming Strikeforce’s promotion is no better and it’s all up to CBS, somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0, with an upside of a 4 and a downside of a 2.
I do not believe Kimbo’s fight on Spike will beat out the fight on CBS with Thompson, that one did 7 million + viewers. I’m thinking the rating will be a 3.3-3.5 household and set the UFC record.

I love this comment because I’ve had Rome on my show about half a dozen times and fuckers are just now hearing his voice?
Pardon me while I blow my brains out for wasting my time in MMA radio.
My half-assed defense is that I’m in Canada and haven’t bothered to figure out how to get your radio show.
Can you D/L your radio show as a podcast from iTunes? Because I honestly looked the other day – admittedly very briefly – but couldn’t find you guys.
But I can tell you that there’s a real whack of awful, amateur-hour podcasts out there though….wow.
I am the bastard love child of Junie Browning and Diamond Dave Kaplan.
Do you have the shows podcasted elsewhere? I honestly don’t use iTunes and keep all my podcasts organized in Winamp. And I can’t catch your shows live because I’m usually working.
same here
I don’t use iTunes, and don’t want it installed on my system. I use Winamp also, and live listening is also usually not an option for me. If there is a page where the shows are archived and I can directly download or stream them, I will definitely listen to MMA Nation. I looked around for one a couple of times but couldn’t find one. As with anything on the internet, if it’s not conveniently right there in my face, I probably won’t see it, and will stop looking after 10 seconds. I’m on this page and can see no mention of MMA Nation or Luke Thomas.
